This trip was a real eye opener into a very different way of life. It was very educational. We enjoyed the perspective of the local people when it came to past issues i.e, the war in Vietnam, the genocide in Cambodia. The group size was wonderful and we got to know each other very well.

The Spirit of Laox trip was excellent, great value for what was included. We especially liked the trip on the Mekong River, it was a lovely restful day inbetween alll the other full on days. We liked the amount of activities and trips provided by Explore and all were interesting and enjoyable . The tour leader, Silk, was great and he had a huge knowledge of the history of Laos and Cambodia which added to the interest The local guides, Tae and Pheng, in Laos were also very knowledgeable and helpful. Did this trip with my 20 year old son. Great father son bonding time experience. Would go back and do it again happily. You need to be pretty fit to get through the whole event. Definitely take factor 50 sun cream, gloves to keep your hands from burning, long sleeved tops and loose trousers to cycle in. It was 35 to 37 degrees when we went in early February. Guides were amazing, off road bicycles were great. The last two days in Cambodia were pretty arduous but the day cycling around Angkor Wat was an all time highlight of my life.
