Our family of three (including our 1 2 year old daughter) had a wonderful time with G Adventures during our trip to Peru. Our CEO, Gloria was very nice and organized. The other families in the tour were also very friendly and all the kids got along great. We saw a great many things in Peru- from night-time hikes in the rainforest to chocolate making in Cusco. Our day in Machu Pichu was very beautiful and it was a visit we were very much looking forward to. I felt the tour was very well organized and I was impressed with how well behaved all the kids were- especially on traveling days. Overall, this was our first family tour and definitely not our last- I don't think I could have organized a better tour by myself and really appreciated the luxury of having all bookings and reservations done for me. Despite all the bad circumstances of our trip, starting with the accident at the Lima airport that caused it to be closed for two days, they took very good care of us upon our arrival and then the closure of roads due to a national strike of carriers in the same week, they did everything they could to keep us safe and to at least be able to meet what they could after we missed many tours of our original itinerary. In the worst trip we've had in our lives, the agency did everything in its power to lessen the bad experience. I highly recommend them, I suppose that under normal circumstances, they must exceed the expectations of the tourist.

Initially before booking the trip I thought it was extremely overpriced.
However(our tour guide) was fantastic. He made the trip worth every penny and was extremely organised and knowledgeable. The locations were great, and the activities were really cool.
was a fantastic character, and became a friend by ensuring we all had fun. He looked after and catered for everyone’s needs and requirements, promoting safety above all else, and more than once went the extra mile to ensure we all had a great time (joining myself at CrossFit and his traditional dance moves were personal highlights).
I hope he gets the recognition he deserves, as I would love to book a similar trip with Contiki in future because of this great experience.
I would also recommend that you include huacachina in future - I went there on my own and it was one of the coolest experiences - maybe this could be added as an extra at the beginning of the trip.

Discover the lost land of the Incas and visit Machu Picchu on this 15 day tour of Peru. Starting in Lima we head south to the Ballestas Islands in the Paracas National Reserve. We get to see a huge array of birds and marine mammals on a boat ride through the islands. The next day we head through the Ica Desert on our way to Peru's wine regoin where we visit a winery before travelling to the Oasis of Huacachina where we have a chance to get our hearts pumping on an exhilarating dune buggy ride before settling down for a relaxing evening of camping under the stars. The next morning we are off to see the mysterious Nazca lines before heading to Arequipa for the night. We spend the next 4 days exploring Colca Canyon, we can select from additional activities like white water rafting, cycling, horse riding and trekking. Great trip. Beautiful archeological sites and cities included in the itinerary. Would have been helpful for many travelers to know that for the two nights at Machu Picchu you will need an overnight bag for the train ride and hotel stay as your luggage is likely too large for the train to Machu Picchu. Cusco was a great city to walk around and sample a lot of good restaurants.
