Our fabulous tour guide led us through the charming cities and towns of Croatia and Slovenia. Highlights included Lake Bled, the Postojna caves, Plitvice lakes/falls, and Dubrovnik. The pace was well planned and there was free time for us to explore on our own. All our hotels were very nice. My only negative would be the size of the group; at 48, it was too large for walking tours and getting on/off the bus, but everyone was very prompt.
It was comprehensive, enjoyable, educational, exciting, thought-provoking, well managed, comfortable - in other words, everything one could want in a tour.
I wanted to see the Badlands and was pleasantly surprised by Culter State Park. Mt. Rushmore monuments and the Crazy Horse 'work in progress' were wonderful. We had a nice walk around Mt. Rushmore on the President's Trail. I had previously been to Yellowstone but it was good to return again. The Grand Tetons were just that - GRAND. A nice side trip to see Devil's Tower was unexpected yet most welcome. We saw lots of wildlife, bison, grizzlies, moose and elk. We had several smaller stops like the Bison Center with a very good talk by the manager.
My husband and I had a wonderful trip, but our friends, who aren't as physically fit, had a hard time in the high altitudes - something to consider if you are older and not in good shape. The country is beautiful, the people were very friendly, and our main and local guides were wonderful.
