This was my first tour with Explore and it was simply awesome. One thing the Tour Leader did was ask if he wanted to make dinner reservations for the group. This was a great way of bonding people, and we all became good friends.
I was most impressed with the archeological sites, where Guides provided us with detailed information. One thing I've been talking to friends about was how our everyday words came from Greek, such as stadium came from a word that meant stand. Those little gems sparkled as we walked through the Gymnasium in Olympia.

The Roma Hotel in Lisbon hotel staff Fernando Leite was extremely unprofessional and rude. I was the only person waiting for service on 11 Nov, and he did not serve me, and not even greeted me for about 10 min. When my wife Ann went to ask the other staff in the room, he loudly scolded my wife. Then Fernando claimed the room was not readyand later I find out that it has, and eventually the other staff in the room checked us in.
This one swings you from Rome to Naples, the home of pizza and gateway to Pompeii, before gliding along the dreamy Amalfi Coast. After falling for Capri and postcard pretty Positano, it's time to head to Sicily for a week of dreamy beaches, incredible food and endless ancient history. This Italian adventure has a little something for everyone.

Scotland's natural beauty and its historical legacy were the highlight of the trip. Many photos of the countryside were taken and will be used in creating original paintings. I appreciated as well the many occasions we had to hear history from the point of view of the Scots. An excellent balance between nature and human knowledge.
