Just completed the Gokyo Lakes, Gokyo Ri, Cho-La and EBC treks with this local travel expert and had an unforgettable experience. Throughout the whole process Chhatra was an impressive communicator - very responsive, simple, clear and informative. Our guide (Rinji) and porter (also Rinji !!) were incredibly flexible in helping us make the impossible, possible - whilst always looking out for our health and wellbeing. I cannot more highly recommend this agency for your Himalaya adventure - the whole team was truly incredible - experienced, knowledgable and well connected to all the best places to stay along the way. Going valley in the morning over 4000m was severe coldness in winter because no sunshine due to surrounding mountains and wind. (Dingboche to Lobche)
It might be better to add 1 more layer, considering the weather.
Since a bit earlier than year end holiday, I could spend more quiet time.
On the way to back, I met more people who were going up.
Mr Bibek, the guide was knowledgeable and explained the mountains.
He was good advisor also for health conditions but you should know yourself first.

Ganesh from the local operator organized a Gokyo-EBC Trek for me. As I was trekking alone, I could change my program anytime. I could count on him all the time, so I managed to make a great trek (my 9th in Nepal!). My guide Shiva was amazing: always there when I needed him, not there when he realized I wanted to be on my own and enjoy the fantastic views. A great experience, would always recommend Ganesh & his team. I hope to realize my last "dream trek" also with them: Mustang!

Our guide, a true gem, added an extra layer of excitement to the entire trek. Not only was he knowledgeable and experienced, but he also had a fantastic personality that made the journey even more enjoyable. His ability to connect with each trekker individually and provide insightful information about the surroundings was truly commendable. He made sure we were well-informed about the route, local culture, and any potential challenges we might face along the way.

This guided, 12-day off-road drive takes you to one of the most remote yet beautiful area of Nepal. Join us for this once-in-a-lifetime exploration of the Upper Mustang region, formerly the isolated kingdom of Lo, that is known for its otherworldly landscapes and villages frozen in time.
Upper Mustang is located in the trans-Himalayan area of Nepal. One of the major attractions of this place is its stunning landscape comprising of bare cliffs and arid valleys. The other interesting element is the Tibetan Buddhist culture that is still preserved and practiced in this region as a result of its seclusion from the outside world until recent times.

We’ve just returned from a remarkable 12 days in Bhutan and couldn’t recommend it more highly. This is some feedback from Sophie and me.
The whole thing went brilliantly from start to finish. We have some appreciation for the challenges of operating in developing countries, and so very much respect what went into delivering the outstanding service. We were continually delighted. Our expectations were well and truly exceeded.
The core trekking support team of Sam, Norbu, and Sigay was genuinely outstanding. They worked tirelessly and delivered incredible meals and services for us, always with a bright smile. They were 10/10.
The guide, Sonam, was good - capable, organised, calm and helpful. He dealt with the two mini crises extremely well - when one guest had to be evacuated and the 2nd set of ponies was very late. His one area for improvement is his communication. This would be three things: (i) English pronunciation, (ii) in talking to our group, he nearly always directed his gaze and speech to me, the only male in the group, to the exclusion of the women, and (iii) he could be more proactive and forthcoming with information. He will go from 8/10 to 10/10 if he can improve his communication.
There was a small misunderstanding about the tipping. From the WEx materials and common sense, we had assumed the tips would be given at the end of the trip. Sonam asked us for a tip for the first set of horsemen when they finished their work mid-trip, and he indicated that the team tip fund would usually be provided at the start. That didn’t seem consistent with the WEx materials, and we had no way to know how much horsemen should be tipped. Also, the WEx materials say “if” you have a guide or drivers, which is odd given that this trip had both. Our sense from the WEx materials was that there would be two tips: one for the team and one for the guide. We assumed the drivers and horsemen were part of the team. In reality, more than two tips were required, as drivers and horsemen were not considered part of the team. The practice of tipping is foreign to us and sensitive, and WEx would do well to achieve better clarity for all.
The hotels in Paro and Thimpu were both great, and the staff were wonderful.
