I loved everything about Madagascar. I have had 4 trips with Explore and feel safe knowing they will look after me. The accommodation was excellent, we stayed in some really luxurious hotels. Our guide was excellent, very knowledgeable. Whatever I asked him to ID (insect, animal, plant) he knew what it was, even giving the Latin name. I recommend this trip and hope to return to visit the north of the Island one day.
We had an excellent trek around Manaslu. It was an amazing experience to climb from the jungle to 5000 meters above sea level. Our guides helped us with everything. We received a lot of advice about food. During the trek, we also got a glimpse of the local culture through our conversations. This trek will remain an unforgettable experience for me.
Very enjoyable tour with lovely group of people. Our guide, Nuii, was also very helpful and informative.
The itinerary was nicely varied to include some boat and train trips as well as some rural walking and a bit of cycling. The highlights for me were the elephant sanctuary visit and the home stay which included seeing local crafts, as well as visiting the Hellfire Pass and commemorative site of the building of the bridge over the river Kwai.
Only suggested improvement would be to cut down on several days of very long drives in the minibus, although I appreciate we did have to cover some long distances, and perhaps staying in a few more places for two nights rather than one.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this holiday, and Thai food is wonderful.
Everything from the hotel check-in to the daily tours was seamless. I appreciated how organized the tour was. Capri, Sorrento, and Pompeii were each impressive in their own way. Great value and unforgettable memories!
The representatives at the sites we saw/toured were very knowledgeable and willing to answer questions and share history and processes. When we didnt have a special speaker the tour guide was able to share so much history and interesting ffacts about the islands. The time seem to go too fast some times it was so interesting.
The “second day” the flight is SUPER early and you have to leave the hotel at 4 am.
That was not communicated anywhere and we didn’t arrive at the hotel u til after 11 pm the night before. It made the morning very difficult!
Also, it would be helpful if there was a place by the day noting if women needed to cover shoulders/knees or men knees. When I was packing and googling, it said that at Kom Ombo (and most of the temples) it was recommended to have shoulder and knees covered, but when we got there I was told we didn’t need it. I had a lot more pants packed then I needed and that would have been helpful to know when I actually needed to wear more conservative clothing or having my hair covered.
Overall the itinerary was good. We saw a lot and had a great guide!
We were on the Steinberger cruise ship - I would not recommend that one again. Very limited. We were on Thai ship with another group from Trafalgar that paid less for the tour and we had no extras. We allowed one drink at dinner and one bottle of water.. anything more we had to pay for. They didn’t have coffee/tea available throughout the day for free. It seemed like they were nickel and diming the guests. I have been on other River cruises and unlimited water, beverages at dinner, and feee coffee/tea throughout the day in the lounge was accessible.
We had a fabulous time with Explore, the walking tour was breathtaking! Majestic snow capped mountains surrounded by the gorgeous array of wildflowers, and lakes and streams dotted throughout . We were blessed with perfect weather every day and loved seeing the clouds roll by each day.
Our leader was wonderful, very organised, knowledgeable and a genuinely a lovely person.
Explore tours really captured the essence of the Mont Blanc area.
Great tour itinerary with 2 x night accommodation at quality, well-located, hotels. Daily schedules included stops at highlights both en-route or at designated city stopovers, as well as sufficient “at leisure” time to explore independently. Our excellent Tour Director, provided insightful knowledge of destinations and recommendations throughout the tour. The coach transport was first-class as was our Driver. Availability of the on-board Wi-Fi and electronic device re-charging was particularly convenient. The Local Guides were engaging and professional.
This was an excellent trip and our guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. The itinerary was good with just the right amount of activities for each day and enough free time in key locations. The hotels were a bit tired and not always clean with frequent lack of internet service, but this was somewhat expected at the quality level of accommodations booked for the trip.
