Lucerne Tours in August 2026

There were so many great experiences. The train rides. The lakes, the tours. It all was so memorable. Being able to see the Matterhorn was definitely a highlight. The only thing I would say is maybe stay more than one night in St. Moritz. You get there later in the afternoon and cannot really enjoy all it has to offer.

It was a well paced tour with the right mix of organized tours and free time. Having just two hotels (Bern and Innsbruck) we were able to spend less time packing and unpacking, and more time enjoying the beauty and culture of Switzerland, Austria and Bavaria. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable and kept us on schedule without being a tyrant!

Great affordable trip that covered all the main highlights and more. Emma and Damien both did an awesome job keeping us safe and informed on this epic journey. I would highly recommend travelling with Expat Tours and are already checking their website for ideas for my next adventure.

Enjoyable, fun & lot of interesting facts. Thoughtful informative tour host (Gabbi) kept us notified with city sights, helpful safety info & more. Always ready to help or rescue if lost our our. Good range of ages group of 35+ folk. Middle to older age couples & few younger. Sad to leave as friends. Excellent tour itinerary. Thankyou Expat for great experience & memories we'll cherish.

The tour was fantastic, I would of liked stay in Budapest and have a free day but there is always a next time. The tour leader Luke was fantastic, funny, happy all the time, nothing we asked was to hard for him, happy to help all the time.Very organised I can only tell you good things about him. I think he is one of your best tour leaders. Driver Istvan was very good, his driving skills are fantastic, I don't know how he got us out of some places.

I had a great trip and our Tour Manager made the trip even more enjoyable! Every day we had an activity and free time to explore. My favorite thing about the trip was hiking under the Matterhorn and seeing Mount Pilatus. The Hotel's were all unique and had a boutique feel, with rooms decorated like the towns we were visiting. Some of my favorite things this trip were Lago Maggiore (Stesa), FAI Cheese Tour, the Cog Wheel Train, Lucerne Old Town, exploring the Village of Zermatt and St. Moritz. The pace of the tour was quick, but also in depth in each location. The Tour Manager was always available to give her suggestions as to what to do during our "Free Time". She even helped us find a Tobbogan to ride... (not an included event, but maybe should be?)
