Los Angeles (L.A) is a haven of beauty, surrounded by mountain ranges, desert, forests and beaches, a setting quite apt for a place nicknamed the City of Angels. While the natural beauty is undeniable, it’s not what a trip to L.A is famous for. In fact, what L.A is famous for is its famous people. Home of

This is a great trip! We got a nice survey of some amazing places, such as Yosemite and Sequoia, plus several stops in between. Accommodations and food were excellent. Our guide, was wonderful - very knowledgeable, patient, creative, dedicated to the task. We would definitely recommend this tour to others and would be interested in Trafalgar tours to other destinations.

Amazing trip. We had the best trip manager she was so knowledgeable and made the experience the absolute best! I’d say more dinners would of been better then breakfasts as most people didn’t wake up for them. The added activities were great so fun.. the hotels at 2 of the locations were average could of been better but overall good.

It’s a great way to experience and learn about California’s National Parks. I had traveled to Yosemite on my own, but with Trafalgar I saw some hidden gems and received information that I never would have known. I enjoyed this trip so much more than when I went on my own. We had special guests at several of our stops that gave us their personal stories that made it more realistic. The days are full, and I enjoyed being able to take some hikes in the Parks, and it was so nice to see how our guide took care of the travelers that chose not to do hikes. If you love our National Parks, and want more information than you can imagine, take this tour.

Great lineup of fabulous parks. Easy flying to and from LV and LA. Disappointed that we had to bypass Death Valley due to high temperatures. Would like to have seen on itinerary in advance of that possibility.

Highly recommended, everything was just so nicely planned.Tour director was awesome and coach driver was an A+++ Driver!! Felt safe and comfortable during the whole trip. The motels were A+++ would strongly encourage future travelers to use Costsaver. Thankyou for a most memorable time for my 50th ✌️👍🤗

It was really amazing travel. Nice people, perfect schedules and good condition of hotel. If someone hesitates to go abroad, I would like to say, you need to choose Contiki.

Los Angeles - Tour Highlights and Travel Tips

Hollywood, Los Angeles lures many tourists interested in the film industry. However, as the United States’ second most populous city, L.A is also a center for finance, culture, science and trade. With a strong multiculturalism, a fantastic climate and hundreds of things to keep you active, a tour of Los Angeles is a perfect travel destination.

Travel Highlights

  • Stroll down Venice Boardwalk and observe the show of life: circus performers, musicians and dancers provide the heartbeat of this weird and wonderful L.A institution.
  • The Runyon Canyon public park is famous for its hike to the top of the ridge. If you’re lucky you’ll pass a celeb or two while working up a sweat.
  • Stargaze at The Griffith Observatory with a sweet view of the Hollywood sign.
  • Movie buffs need to visit the living and breathing shrine that is Hollywood.
  • Downtown is still an up and coming area and is the place to find authentic Mexican culture this side of the border.
  • For a more low-key experience, head to the hippie-chic Santa Monica.

Travel Tips

  • With a moderate, year-round climate meaning there’s no bad time to visit to Los Angeles.
  • Los Angeles is a big driving city, so hiring a rental car is the easiest way to get around.
  • Metro buses are available but L.A has a reputation for having a terrible public transport system.
  • Tipping isn’t compulsory but is expected: 15-20% at restaurants is the norm and $1-$2 being acceptable for luggage handlers, parking attendants and maid services.
  • Reservations for sought-after restaurants are a must, though if you turn up for an early or late dinner, you may get lucky.
