The Usambara Mountains are a mountain range in North-East Tanzania, approximately 70 miles (110 km) long and ranging from 20 to 40 miles (64 km) in width. Mountains in the range rise as high as 8,000 ft (2,440 m). They are part of the Eastern Arc Mountains, which stretch from Kenya through Tanzania, and are one of the world’s biodiversity hotspots.
The range is accessible from the towns of Lushoto in the West, and Amani in the East. The Usambaras are commonly split into two sub-ranges, the West Usambara and the East Usambara. The East Usambara is closer to the coast, receives more rainfall, and is significantly smaller than West Usambara.
The Usambaras are fairly unique in that, being in East Africa, their unspoiled regions are covered in tropical forest, which today remains mainly in the West of the continent. The mountain range was formed nearly two billion years ago.

Tanzania is an undiscovered bicycle tour paradise. From the foothills of Kilimanjaro with its mountain villages and coffee farms to the plains below, and beyond through the Usambara mountains down to the Pangani Coast, there are countless miles of dirt roads, footpaths, and single-tracks to explore.
Half-day guided bicycle rides range from 15 to 50 kilometres and explore a side of Tanzania that tourists rarely encounter.
Rides depart from Moshi Town (or another pre-arranged location with additional transport) and include visits to beautiful coffee estates, mountain villages, rainforests, waterfalls, or the Maasai plains.
One of the great features for those that decide to come and visit Tarangire National Park is that it is still relatively un-crowded (which can be an issue in other parks). Tarangire National Park has the highest density of elephants in North Tanzania and you can view these animals all year round in which the herds often can reach an impressive number of 300 animals.
You will witness an unforgettable natural wonder as you can observe wonderful creatures such as lions, giraffes, buffaloes, wildebeests and zebras as well as various types of antelopes and gazelles and with a little luck, you can also spot a python.
Around lunch time, you will stop at a suitable picnic place before the afternoon starts, which is is dedicated to more wildlife watching. Before sunset, you will be taken back to your desired destination, be that either Arusha or Moshi.
Arusha National Park is a great safari attraction for a full day's game drive. Although the park lacks predators, it is unquestionably beautiful. It is very quiet and has a wide variety of animals and superb birdlife. You can also spend an afternoon canoeing on the lake - a great thing to do if you have a late flight home!
Your day trip to Arusha National Park will include a visit to the Ngurdoto Crater. Buffaloes, waterbucks, giraffes, warthogs, zebras and baboons can be seen all year round as well as many different bird species. After plenty of time allocated for you to observe the wildlife, we will take you back to Moshi.
If you have 1 day for safari, this is the tour for you - we will make sure that you get the most out of it!
After breakfast you will be met by our professional tour guide/driver, who will deliver a short safari briefing, after which we travel west to the Great Rift Valley and the Lake Manyara National Park.
We will travel through the agricultural and fresh produce market town of Mto Wa Mbu, which is situated next to the entrance of the Lake Manyara National Park. The town is a souvenir hunters paradise, harbouring thousands of souvenir salesmen – ready to sell at your slightest invitation.
The Lake Manyara National Park is one of Tanzania’s most dramatically located African wildlife areas, consisting of a massive but shallow soda lake (covering two-thirds of the park) at the foot of the Great Rift Valley’s western escarpment.
Lake Manyara's varied habitat attracts a wide variety of animals, including one of Africa’s most densely populated herds of African elephants. Other wildlife attractions are Lake Manyara’s famous tree-climbing lions, as well as large flocks of flamingos, attracted by the algae in the lake.
On this full day tour we will enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park and do two exciting morning and afternoon game drives, in search of the tree-climbing lions. In the later afternoon we depart for Arusha from Lake Manyara where we will end our safari adventure.
It is recommended that the group should tip the tour guide around $20 for the day. You will be taken to your hotel, which also marks the end of our our services. We promise you a great safari day in Lake Manyara.
This trip will lead you to un-forgettable experience about the Chagga society which is among the big tribes in Tanzania where you will get a deep insight in the traditional lifestyle of this agricultural society.
Our tour guide will bring you to the Chagga live museum and later he will take you to some coffee and banana plantations and also to a spectacular waterfall. At the waterfall you will have a lunch and you may take a plunge in the refreshing water.
Bananas are used to make one of the famous Chagga drinks called ‘’Mbege’’,and you will have a chance to taste it. Later in the afternoon you will be taken to a famous village called Mamba where you will see caves which were once used to hide women and children during the war between the Chagga society and the Maasai society. At Mamba, you will also visit a local blacksmith who still forges spearheads in the traditional manner.
This a cultural day with many insights surrounded by good people and mother nature.
The first day of our safari we visited Tarangire National Park. The highlight was definately the enormeous amount of elephants that we saw. But the whole park was unbelieveable beautiful and stuffed with wildlife. The time there flew way to fast! I would like to visit it again at a time when the Tarangire river is flowing.
On day two we went to the Ngorongoro crater. The view from the top is very scenic, and the crater itself is filled with a lot of different animals. We spotted a black rhino, a pack of hyenas chasing an ostrich and countless lions.
Visiting Masaai village it will gives you an opportunity to experience the unique culture of Masaai people. You will get more information about the culinary culture of the Maasai while tasting a traditional tea prepared on the wood fire and different varieties of local food. Maasai warriors will guide you along their paths and explain to you typical medicinal plants, extraordinary trees, tracks and the local wildlife.
In addition to that, the usage of local tools, hunting techniques and fire preparation is a part your unforgettable bush excursion. During the sunset a group of Maasai men and woman gathering around for the traditional singing & dancing performances. A great BBQ-Buffet right at camp fire and then get together with your already known Maasai friends, who will provide you an unforgettable evening.
On this 2 days safari you will see different varieties of unique species including climbing lions, good elephants and baboons. Lake Manyara is a lovely scenic park on the road from Arusha to the Ngorongoro Crater. The lake itself takes up much of the park leaving a strip of land running down its shores where game concentrates.
This unforgettable African safari tour will take you to the Ngorongoro Crater, featuring one of the highest concentrations of game in Africa. Here you will witness an amazing spectacle of African wildlife – inside a self-contained world teeming with animals. Your tour will also take you to the Lake Manyara National Park, one of Tanzania’s most dramatically located wildlife areas, consisting of a shallow but huge soda lake, at the foot of the Great Rift Valley’s western escarpment.
