Fast-paced, included Northern Ireland which was still cold in June, great tour guide, no air-conditioning in Waterford hotel (if you’re traveling in late June or July), and you need a jacket due to the winds. Need to be in Waterford on Thursday (instead of Tuesday), because shops are open until 8pm or 9 pm on Thursdays in Waterford. Room was very hot in Waterford, even with a fan and a partially open window. Take lotion and hair conditioner with you, because Trafalgar hotels in Ireland do not provide any. In some hotels, you also need your own Kleenex and shower caps.
Well organized and managed. Even though we went to iconic yet crowded site, everything went smoothly, including the weather. We appreciated the planning and were keep well informed by our tour manager. We especially enjoyed smaller town visits and cultural tours of the area as well as locals we met along the way. Greta trip with great memories.
We had a great time. My favorite was the Titanic Museum. I would suggest that you include tour manager/guide and bus driver gratuities in with the price of the trip at the beginning. That way you don’t have to worry about local currency at the end of the trip. Also…every breakfast buffet was the same and most dinners were the same. If you could find restaurants that offered different options, that would be awesome.
Driving through countryside and enjoying the diversity of the landscape. From the emerald-green hills, to the rugged coastal cliffs. Going to sheep farm and listening to farmer tell us about sheep raising. Followed by his wife’s homemade scones. Walking tour in Derry. Guide gave excellent talk about history of Northern Ireland.
Everything was perfect. Our tour guide was exceptional and very knowledgeable, , the accommodations were top notch and the tour guides we had along the way were also very good. I would definitely use Colette again.
I greatly enjoyed visiting with locals at Stankill Castle and the family sheep farm . I noticed upcoming Shades of Ireland tours don’t include that . That is very unfortunate . The Medieval Times dinner was okay but not the best. Accommodations great . Tour guide and bus driver were fantastic . I think it would be wise if tour guide told group which people to tip . .. some were included with tour and others not . I just happened to ask each time but others didn’t .
