Honest insights from past guests on our 12-Day France tours

Overall the itenary was good and well planned but there was a communication misunderstanding on the pre tour day which led us to use the metro in paris and the taxi from one hotel to the other. Veronica was a good guide and Gabriella was awesome we regret she had to leave for her holidays and then Pedro was calm and informative too in Italy. Venice was flooded and Rome was not well planned. The tour was nice and tiring

It’s a good well rounded excursion around France and there’s a lot to see. Liked the tour and the hotels and the driver and tour director, very helpful and friendly. However the tour is reliant on people being active for all the walking trips and sometimes some people who are on the tour are not - my sister is disabled and found all the walking, especially on cobbles and up/down stairs with no handrails, rather difficult. Sometimes no alternative given but to get off the coach and do the walk regardless.

Beautiful destinations each day. I loved the group lunches and dinners and out tour leader and driver organised a lunch in a place called Domme with spectacular views. A visit to a winery with wine cellars miles underground that was used to mine the limestone as well mind blowing

Really enjoyable trekking with a nice mixture of types of accommodation

Like all mountain trips, the weather is critical to enjoyment. Fortunately for us, we had only one day of really poor weather when even seeing signposts was difficult!! Else the scenery was truly fantastic all the way round. The accommodation varied a bit in quality but all of it was basically good and that, plus the many included meals, made the trip feel more like a real holiday - tired legs and any other issues were quickly forgotten as really hot showers, good food and clean crisp sheets revitalised the body! Walking clockwise against the flow was nice as you had a quiet period each morning when sometimes you were the only visible people on the trail. Navigation notes were generally good (though we also bought Kev Reynolds book on Mont Blanc) and baggage transfer by Besson Transport (though arranged through the tour operator) worked well. Airport transfer was efficiently handled by the operator recommended Mountain Drop Offs. It was a straightforward very rewarding trek. As regular hill walkers in Scotland we very much enjoyed the freedom of being 'self guided'.

The tourist guide is so accomodating and helpful. Hotels are good and bus has comfortable seats. Package tour price is affordable. Europamundo is a good company. We will be using the company in our succeeding trips.

Why? | Traveled in June

Fantastic tour, good mix of must-see and discretionary activities, with an excellent tour leader and group. More time in Toulouse, Belgium and Paris would have been ideal, but within time constraints, it was a good appetiser! Next tour will either be smaller group and longer, or self organised.
