day 1 - Snowshoeing experience
Bozeman - Gardiner. Welcome to Bozeman, Montana. Our tour begins with a welcome meeting at the Best Western Grantree (address in Trip Notes) at 8 a.m. (unless otherwise specified in your tour documentation). Here, you'll meet your guide and fellow travellers. Afterward, we will depart for Mammoth Hot Springs.
Once we arrive at Mammoth Hot Springs, we will enjoy a winter picnic before getting ready for our afternoon snowshoeing adventure. We'll snowshoe for between 3-5 miles depending on the group preference - you'll pick snowshoeing up quickly, even if you have not done it before! After a thrilling day in the snow, we’ll head to Gardiner for the night, where we can relax and enjoy a well-deserved meal in one of the town’s lively local spots. Gardiner is located on the outskirts of Yellowstone National Park.
Please note: This tour has a flexible itinerary, and the below is a general guide of what you can expect on tour. Your tour guide may alter certain night stops to maximize your enjoyment; maybe you opt to visit a local event or stay longer in a certain place. The beauty of a small group tour is that the itinerary can also be adapted to suit the group’s preference! We encourage you to relax and go with the flow!
day 2 - Yellowstone Grand Canyon by Snow Coach
Gardiner - Yellowstone National Park - Gardiner. Today, we will depart from our hotel in Gardiner, heading to Yellowstone National Park by snow coach. Our journey takes us to the breathtaking Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, where winter transforms the landscape into a dramatic display of ice and flowing water. We'll have the opportunity to view the impressive Upper and Lower Falls, as well as other scenic highlights such as Gibbon Falls and Beryl Spring. Keep an eye out for wildlife along the Madison River, where bison, elk, and other animals are often spotted. After a full day of exploration, we’ll return to our hotel in Gardiner.
day 3 - Wolf tracking tour
Gardiner - Yellowstone National Park - Gardiner. Winters in Yellowstone are truly enchanting. The moisture in the air falls like diamonds in a sparkling haze, one of the many reasons visitors flock here. For us, it’s the perfect time to spot wolves in their natural habitat.
This morning, after breakfast, we head out early for an exhilarating wolf tracking tour with our expert tracker. Winter provides the best chance to see Yellowstone's wolves, which are most active and visible during this season. We’ll have the thrilling opportunity to observe these magnificent creatures as they play, feed, and defend their pack in their wild, natural environment.
Our wolf tracking tour comes to an end around the mid-afternoon, and we will have some free time to explore Mammoth Hot Springs before heading back to Gardiner, where we will spend the rest of our day.
day 4 - Dog Sledding Experience & Transfer to West Yellowstone
Gardiner - West Yellowstone. This morning, we will embark on a half-day dog sledding adventure into the heart of Big Sky Country. We’ll learn how to mush as we team up with our own group of energetic Alaskan Huskies—true winter athletes. This hands-on experience gives us the chance to guide our sleds, enjoy wide-open snowy landscapes, and take in breathtaking mountain scenery.
Along the way, we’ll have plenty of time to play with the dogs, snap some unforgettable photos, and chat with the mushers who work closely with these remarkable animals. A packed lunch and warm drinks will be provided on-site to keep us fuelled and cozy throughout the experience.
After we will make our way to our accommodation in West Yellowstone. Once you have checked in, you will have some free time to explore the town and enjoy dinner.
day 5 - Old Faithful Snow Coach Tour
West Yellowstone - Yellowstone National Park - West Yellowstone. Today, we will make our way to Yellowstone National Park, where we’ll embark on a full-day snow coach journey to the park’s iconic Old Faithful geyser. As Yellowstone is only accessible by snowcoach or snowmobile in winter, this unique mode of travel offers a truly special way to experience the park’s geothermal wonders blanketed in snow. Along the way, we’ll explore steaming geysers, bubbling hot springs, and otherworldly thermal features set against a striking winter landscape. We will enjoy a packed lunch during the journey. After, we will return to West Yellowstone, where you will have the chance to enjoy a final dinner with your fellow travellers.
day 6 - Wildlife Encounter & Return to Bozeman
West Yellowstone - Bozeman. After your final breakfast, you will have some free time before our final expedition.
