Emmanuel

Smooth, Scenic, and Superbly Organized I joined a 6-Day Marangu Route hike with Kilisa Tours, and the whole experience was seamless. The accommodations in the mountain huts were cozy, and the support staff made sure we were always comfortable. Our guide shared fascinating stories about the mountain s history and wildlife. Everything ran perfectly on schedule, and the company s attention to detail was impressive. I ve done many treks before, but Kilisa Tours stands out for their genuine care and world-class service. Couldn t have asked for more!

Let the romance of the Amalfi Coast sweep you away as you trace sunlit cliffs and stroll through pastel-hued villages. Tuscany’s heart reveals itself in Florence and Siena—picture-perfect landscapes, exceptional wines, and Renaissance marvels await your discovery. Journey onward to the Cinque Terre, where five vibrant seaside villages cling to dramatic cliffs above the Ligurian Sea, each offering panoramic vistas and irresistible charm. Throughout this unforgettable trip, you’ll savor a harmonious blend of cultural immersion, natural beauty, and regional flavors. This tour’s unique selling point is its well-crafted itinerary, fusing historical highlights with scenic gems and immersive local experiences—perfect for seasoned travelers craving a multifaceted Italian adventure.

day 1 - Welcome to Rome

Upon arrival at Rome Fiumicino Airport, a private driver will pick you up and transfer you to your accommodation. Once you have checked in to your room and settled down, you are free to explore the city on your own.

Accommodation:4 Star Hotel at Hotel Palatino or same level

day 2 - Rome tour

Today, we will embark on a morning half-day walking group tour to discover the famed fountains and squares of Rome.

We begin in Campo Dei Fiori, certainly one of the most characteristic squares in Rome with its “open-air” market and the statue of Giordano Bruno in the center. This is the square closest to the heart of the Romans and is a wonderful window on Roman ways.

Next up is Campo de’ Fiori, where we will admire the magic and power of Piazza Farnese, which takes its name from the imposing Palazzo Farnese. A few steps from Palazzo Farnese stands Palazzo Spada. The building is worth a stop thanks to the brilliance of forced prospective introduced by the famous architect Borromini.

We then move on to Piazza Navona, one of the most famous squares in the world. Its original shape repeats with extreme faithfulness the perimeter of the ancient stadium of Domitian built in 89 A.D. The symbol of the square is the “Fountain of Four Rivers”, designed by Gian Lorenzo Bernini which competes with Borromini’s famed church S.Agnese in Agone.

After a ten-minute walk we reach Piazza Della Rotonda housing the unique Pantheon (inside visit). Once inside, our expert guide will be glad to give a short explanation about the history and the architectural secrets of one of the gems of ancient architecture.

From here it’s only a short distance to Piazza Colonna, named after the 2nd century marble column celebrating the victories of the Emperor Marcus Aurelius over the Germanic populations. At present the square is the centre of the Italian political life, which gravitates around Palazzo Chigi, the seat of the Prime Minister. You never know you might see someone famous!

We then cross Via del Corso and in just 5 minutes we are at the Trevi Fountain, this is more than just the most famous and spectacular fountain in Rome - it truly is a monumental masterpiece. Don’t forget to throw your coin.

The last stop on our itinerary is Piazza Di Spagna: this is a paradise for fashion-conscious shoppers and here you can find the most important and famous names of Italian and international style.

day 3 - Tivoli day trip

This day we will go on a full-day guided tour of Tivoli. Get ready to discover the beautiful villas. Hadrian's Villa is the largest and most luxurious residence ever built in the countryside, with its fabulous and impressive series of imperial palaces, baths, temples, theaters and swimming pools.

A short distance from there is Villa D'Este, one of the most enchanting places of the late Renaissance. The villa was commissioned by Cardinal Ippolito II d'Este, son of Alfonso I d'Este and Lucrezia Borgia and nephew of Pope Alexander VI. It is famous for its incredibly beautiful gardens, stunning fountains, breathtaking waterfalls and hundred-year-old trees.

day 4 - Vatican tour

Enjoy the morning in Rome and in the afternoon, join us on a small group tour of the Vatican Museums and St. Peter's Cathedral with the Sistine Chapel.

Join our expert guide who will take you through the history of this outstanding Vatican Museum and marvel at the sight of the Sistine Chapel, one of the sites in the world.

But the Vatican Museums are not just the Sistine Chapel. On this tour, you will also get to see other artistic jewels such as the Pio-Clementino Halls with the Laocoon and Apollo Belvedere, the Candelabra, Tapestries and Maps Galleries.

After the tour of the Vatican Museums, we move to the imposing beauty of Saint Peter’s Basilica. Its dome was designed by Michelangelo and has become one of the landmarks of Rome. Inside the church, admire the beauty of the world-famous sculpture La Pietà (another Michelangelo masterpiece and the only sculpture personally signed by the artist).

Besides Michelangelo, you will also discover the originality of another art genius, Gian Lorenzo Bernini. Thanks to him, you can drink in the awesomely impressive Baldachin Altar (in gold and bronze), and outside the splendid Colonnade in St. Peter’s Square.

The tour ends in St. Peter’s Square. You can then decide to stay in Vatican City for the rest of the day at leisure.

day 5 - Amalfi Coast transfer with Pompeii tour en route

Today, we will leave Rome behind and travel to the Amalfi Coast. Following breakfast, a private vehicle will pick you up at the hotel and take you to Rome Termini Station for a high speed train transfer to Naples Centrale. Once you disembark at Naples Centrale, a private vehicle will pick you up for your transfer to Sorrento (Amalfi Coast). But before you reach your destination, there will be a two-hour stop en route for a guided tour of Pompeii.

Pompeii is the most compelling archaeological site in Europe, and its appeal goes beyond tourism. Much of its value lies in the fact that it wasn’t simply blown away by Vesuvius: rather it was buried under a layer of lapilli (burning pumice stone), as Pliny the Younger describes in his celebrated account of the eruption. You will also see from the distance the wonderful Vesuvius Mountain, the symbol of Naples area.

By late afternoon, you will reach Sorrento. Check in to your hotel, rest for a while and head out to participate in a cooking class (dinner included) for a small group class. You will start by preparing Pizzette with your hands drinking Prosecco wine. You will then proceed with the preparation of ravioli or gnocchi, and Fish "all'acqua pazza", a special Coastal recipe. Enjoy!

Accommodation:3 Star Hotel at Sorrento Queen

day 6 - Amalfi Coast boat tour

After breakfast at the hotel, join us for an amazing full-day small group tour of Amalfi Coast by boat (max 12 participants). During this tour, you will admire, among other interesting sites, Marina Grande (ancient port of Sorrento); the ruins of the Roman villa of Senator Pollio dating back about 2000 years ago; and Marina di Puolo and Marina della Lobra (traditional fishing villages.

As we leave the island of Vervece, a marine reserve, we’ll reach a small bay where freshwater cascades from the rocks—a perfect spot for a brief dive at Cala Mitigliano's large rocks. Rounding Punta Campanella, we enter the Gulf of Salerno, unveiling a breathtaking stretch of coastline that leads to Positano, Conca dei Marini, and Amalfi.

We arrive at the Unesco-listed Amalfi Coast, celebrated for its beauty and rich history. Marvel at the deep blue waters, made vivid by the seabed's depth and the expansive Poseidonia seagrass meadows that stretch from Cala Ieranto to Mortelle, Marina del Cantone, Recomone, and Crapolla. The coast’s lush Mediterranean vegetation surrounds beaches and quaint fishing villages, framed by towering mountains, islands, fjords, and crystal-clear bays.

Our next stop is Li Galli, a small island steeped in mythology, believed to be the home of sirens who lured sailors to shipwreck on its rocks. Here, you’ll have a chance to swim in the pristine waters and enjoy the vibrant marine life.

Afterward, we visit Positano, a picturesque resort town dating back to the Roman Empire. With its colorful houses and winding stairways leading down to the sea, Positano is a feast for the senses. Our first stop here is Fornillo Beach, where you can savor a traditional caprese salad (tomatoes, mozzarella, basil, extra virgin olive oil, and homemade bread) at a beachfront restaurant. Enjoy two hours of free time to explore Positano before we continue to Amalfi.

In Amalfi, one of Italy’s historic maritime republics, we’ll make several stops to take in its beauty and charm. As the day winds down, we’ll toast aboard the boat and journey back to Sorrento. The cool evening breeze and the play of light and shadow along the Amalfi Coast will set the stage for a spectacular and romantic sunset.

At 6:30 PM, head to the picturesque Galatea Farm, located 15 minutes from Sorrento (taxi transfer payable on-site). This family-run farm produces wine, extra virgin olive oil, mozzarella, and more. Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed under a charming pergola by a family member (often Giovanni) who will guide you through the farm's highlights, including the old and modern mills, the winery, and the dairy.

You’ll also take part in a hands-on demonstration of mozzarella cheese making and stroll through gardens featuring typical Sorrento plants.

Other highlights of the tour include: The Scugnizzo (welcome statue),Tiberius' Leap, Coral Grotto, White Grotto, Natural arch, Villa Malaparte, Bay of Marina Piccola, Siren's Rock, Green Grotto, and Punta Carena Lighthouse.

(Note: Tickets for the Blue Grotto (€14/person) must be purchased directly from the local rowboat operators at the grotto. Access to the Blue Grotto is subject to weather and sea conditions and may be closed by local authorities.)

Following the boat tour, we will travel toward Capri city center by a minibus for a guided walking tour of the sites such as Piazzetta, Via Camarelle and Giardini di Augusto. Later in the day, we will head toward Anacapri, where you will have time to explore at your leisure.

(Optional: Mount Solaro Chairlift: Ride from Piazza Vittoria in Anacapri to the summit of Mount Solaro (589 meters above sea level). At the top, take in stunning views of Capri, the Faraglioni, Mount Tiberius, and the Sorrento Peninsula. Consider a one-way ticket up and walk back down to Anacapri [45-50 minutes]. Coordinate with your guide to ensure there’s enough time for the descent; otherwise, opt for the chairlift both ways.)

The day's tour concludes with a return to Sorrento at around 5:00 PM.

(Optional: If you are not done exploring, we suggest that you visit Villa Massa, a charming lemon farm renowned for producing Limoncello liqueur. [15 minutes by taxi; fare payable on-site.] Book a taxi locally to reach this delightful spot and explore its citrus groves and artisanal production.)

day 9 - Florence tour

Begin your day with breakfast at your hotel, followed by a private guided tour of Florence. Meet your guide at your hotel, who will lead you through the city’s iconic landmarks and hidden gems.

Today's attractions include Signoria Square, the heart of Florence’s political history; Ponte Vecchio, the iconic medieval bridge lined with shops; Santa Maria del Fiore (Duomo); Santa Croce; the final resting place of Michelangelo, Galileo, and other luminaries; the Uffizi Gallery, one of the most famous art museums in the world; and the Accademia Gallery, home to Michelangelo’s David.

You will also visit the world's oldest operating pharmacy: Santa Maria Novella Pharmacy. Founded in 1866, this pharmacy is located in the Santa Maria Novella Convent. Many of the Officina’s preparations have made history and have marked an epoch: the essences, as well as the famous and much requested perfumes, are still prepared here following the formulas studied in 1500 for Caterina de’ Medici. It seems that this was the essence that Caterina de’ Medici, Queen of France, took with her to Paris, where it acquired the name of Eaude la Reine.

Later, the Italian Giovanni Paolo Feminis, who moved to Cologne in 1725 and began to make it there, changed its name to Acqua di Colonia, as a tribute to the city where itwas produced. It boasts a collection of antique pharmacy jars, 17C vases and beautiful 18Cand 19C furniture. It will be possible to visit the little medieval chapel decorated with 14Cfrescoes which is normally closed to public.

You will also go on a walking tour of Oltrarno neighborhood, the equivalent of Paris’ left bank. Here, you’ll get to see and taste what makes this city’s culture, history, and cuisine so special and unique within Italy! Through different stops, food and wine tastings, you’ll learn how to distinguish different artistic periods, sample the local salami, and you’ll experience the neighborhood’s Bohemian vibe!

But, of course, the main highlights of today's tour are: Accademia Gallery, where your guide will share fascinating insights into Michelangelo’s masterpieces, including the original David.

I Prigioni (The Prisoners) and San Matteo, and the Uffizi Gallery, home to some of the most celebrated works of the Renaissance, such as the Birth of Venus by Botticelli, the Annunciation by Leonardo da Vinci, the Venus of Urbino by Titian, and Bacchus by Caravaggio.

This tour will be a unique experience which will enable you to understand the reasons that made Florence the birthplace of the Renaissance.
