Bucket-list sights and plenty of free time to do whatever you wanna do, UK-edition. Sweeet. We’re hitting five INCREDIBLE nations all crammed into one teeny tiny corner of the planet. That’s England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, The Republic of Ireland and Wales. Guess what? Each one is filled to the brim with its own unique cultures, languages, accents, foods and facts. Meaning? You’ll need to enlist the help of a pro to make sense of it all. Lucky for you, we’ve got a few of ’em on hand. Ready for it?
This tour in July 2025 was my first top deck tour and going overseas solo. The group made me feel welcome from the start and I made friends instantly. Sean (the coach driver) and Jake (top deck guide) did their best to ensure the 2+ weeks were stress free, provided local tips and personally they were good to have a drink with aswell. York, Dublin, Wales and of all Scotland were the highlights of the trip. There was a sense of pride within the countries (not to mention I wore a kilt while we were in Scotland). I wished we stayed an extra night in York, Edinburgh and Glasgow. The Edinburgh Military Tattoo started the day after we left which was disappointing, would've been great to see. The Irish Pub Crawl suggested on the top deck app was a let down. Felt more of a history jigs and songs with only 2 bar stops near temple bar. We ended up joining the other part of the group at Murray's Bar. As I purchased the single room option, it was a good way to disconnect from the hectic days on the road and nights of celebrations. The hotels were decent, got sick of buffet breakfasts by the end of the tour. The hotels in Galway and the Scottish Highlands provided laundry service which provided much relief living in a suitcase for 2 weeks. Free time during the full days were a great way to check out your surroundings, go on a day trip if time permits and visit some great pubs like Kelly's Cellar (Belfast), Waxy O Connor (Glasgow) and Murray's Bar (Dublin) If I decide to visit the UK in future, I'll use my knowledge from this trip to arrange an itinerary including personal favourite stops we visited whilst on the tour. I still keep in contact with the friends I made on the tour and hopefully will arrange a meet up soon Overall an amazing experience seeing these iconic places you see on travel shows and making memories with new friends.
The absolute best experience ever! Everything was so well organised and I met the most beautiful group of girls that I’m now so lucky to call my friends. If you’re thinking about it, just do it! It’s so worth it and so much fun. Special shoutout to Kate and GG for being the best trip leader and driver ever!
I enjoyed my top deck experience of the uk I seen so much more with our guide than I would of seen alone
This trip was excellent. Such a good way to see so much of the UK and Ireland in a short amount of time. Great variety and got to see all the best places. Our trip leader Kate was so knowledgeable and passionate about the area and always provided amazing recommendations for each stop. If you are thinking about booking, take the plunge! You won’t regret it.
Our tip leader was amazing. She was very relaxed which kept everyone else relaxed. We left places later in the morning which meant we had some time to ourselves in the morning to chill out. We did notice that most shops did not open until late in the morning. This meant we missed out on a few things because of the times we left and arrived at places. Our trip leader and bus driver were both very accommodating in this and did their best to ensure we did not miss out on what we were looking forward to. All the hotels were really nice considering the price we paid for our trip. However, they we very costly when it came to laundry services. It would be nice if we had a little bit of notice where the best places are to do laundry, so more money can be spent on important things. The new topdeck app was ok when it worked. I miss being able to reach out to other travellers before the trip starts just to ease that solo traveller anxiety. There were glitches in the app when attempting to purchase optional activities saying they had not been booked when i had booked. It would be good to see all accomodation on the app and have sections for travellers to be able to add notes on where they would like to go. This did not affect our trip. Extra activities that were not mentioned in the itinerary were all absolutely awesome. Our trip leader did a really good job with these and you could tell the suppliers were really happy to have us. We loved the axe throwing activities as well as the canoeing across the aqueduct in Llangollen. Overall, fantastic experience. Will be back again.
