We’ll spend the morning cruising. Optional excursions proposed:CLASSIC: Tourist train, wine tasting, and Siegfried’s Mechanical Music Cabinet in Rüdesheim. First, we'll enjoy a guided tour of the local vineyards on a tourist train to get a great view of the surrounding landscape. We’ll then take part in a wine tasting in the historic rooms of the Bassenheimer Hof. Our next stop will be Siegfried’s Mechanical Music Cabinet. Located in a lovely half-timbered building, the museum houses a wide range of mechanical instruments—including the jaw-dropping Ochestrion—with some dating back to the 15th century. Siegfried Wendel, a local music lover, spent years assembling a collection of instruments and opened the museum in 1969.DISCOVERY: Hike through the vineyards in Rüdesheim. We’ll begin at the imposing Niederwald Monument, which majestically overlooks the river. Our hike will take us through the beautiful vineyards to the Abbey of St. Hildegard, which was built in the early 20th century.
We’ll spend the morning cruising.This afternoon, join us for an optional excursion: Koblenz and the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress. Situated at the confluence of the Rhine and Moselle Rivers, Koblenz is a great city to stroll through. We’ll visit the historic castle, where we'll have a magnificent view across the city and valleys.Enjoy a free evening to explore the city on your own.
We’ll spend the morning cruising. In the afternoon, join us on an optional CLASSIC / DISCOVERY excursion: Tour of Mainz and the Gutenberg Museum(2). Mainz was founded more than 2,000 years ago by the Romans and is currently the capital of the Rhine-Palatinate. In the 17th and 18th centuries, top architects and sculptors enhanced the basic shape of the town with fine palaces and churches. We’ll visit the Gutenberg Museum, the world-famous museum of book printing which houses two copies of the Gutenberg Bible, the first major book printed with movable type in the West.The rest of the evening is yours to do as you please.

In 2017, an article in The New York Times described Baden-Baden as “The Belle Époque meets the Age of Instagram.” Join us for a tour of this delightful spa town and discover for yourself the fun and fascinating mix it has to offer.DISCOVERY: The Treetop Walk in the Black Forest. We’ll take a lovely hike along a trail that traverses the dense forest of beech and pine trees to the impressive observation tower that provides an unobstructed view of the amazing scenery.Tonight is our festive gala evening. Our ship will begin cruising to Strasbourg.
