Itinerary
Journey deep into Pakistan’s northern paradise with the Paradise of Pakistan: Gilgit Baltistan tour. This adventure introduces travelers to the breathtaking valleys, vibrant villages, and snow-capped peaks of Gilgit-Baltistan. Starting in Islamabad, travel along the legendary Karakoram Highway, explore UNESCO-listed Taxila City, enjoy jeep rides through dramatic mountain terrain, and experience the rich traditions, food, and music of welcoming communities. day 1 - Arrival in Islamabad
On your arrival, you will be met at Islamabad International Airport by our team member. We will drop you at your hotel.
day 2 - Explore Taxila ruins
After early morning breakfast, depart for Taxila City which is located about an hour drive from Islamabad.
Taxila is one of the most important archaeological sites in Pakistan and the world; 18 of its sites are on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The main ruins of Taxila are divided into three major cities, each belonging to a distinct time period. The first site, Bhir Mound, dates from the 6th century BCE. The second city of Taxila is located at Sirkap and was built by Greco-Bactrian kings in the 2nd century BCE. The third and last city of Taxila is at Sirsukh and relates to the Kushan kings.
Upon arrival, we will set out for site visits of all three main archeological sites before culminating with a visit to Taxila Museum. Right after the museum visit, depart for lunch at a hotel in Taxila and then continue the journey towards Islamabad for leisure time, dinner, and overnight stay.
day 3 - Hunza Valley
After early morning breakfast, transfer to the Islamabad International airport for a domestic flight from Islamabad to Gilgit, which is an hour flight.
From Gilgit, depart for Hunza which is two hours drive from Gilgit city. On the way, there will be a stopover at Rakaposhi's viewpoint for photography and sightseeing. In Hunza, visit Baltit and Altit forts, then the Karimabad Market.
After lunch, visit Duikar (Eagle's Nest) for the sunset view. Weather permitting, you will able to see almost the whole of Hunza including a spectacular view of the snow-filled mountains. Return back to Karimabad for a night's stay at the hotel.
day 4 - Nagar Valley
Early morning breakfast before departing for Nagar Valley. Hopper is the main village of Nagar valley and is a one-hour drive from Karimabad Hunza.
The Hopar Valley is a scenic portion of the Nagar Valley. It is about 10 km away from Nagar Khas, the principal city of the Nagar Valley. Hope Valley is home to the Spantik and Hopar (Hopper) glaciers. Visit the viewpoints of Hopper Glacier and Golden Peak, before departing for Gojal Valley, yet another gorgeous place that offers a view of fascinating peaks, mountains, glaciers, lakes, and rivers.
After one and a half hours of drive, the group will reach Attabad lake for boating, sightseeing, and photography. Attabad lake was formed due to a landslide on which blocked the river at Attabad village and formed a lake. We will have lunch upon arrival at Attabad lake before enjoying the above-mentioned activities.
The group will then have leisure time to relax and then dinner will be served. Overnight stay at Attabad lake.
day 5 - Village Highlights and Passu Village
After breakfast at Attabad lake, the group will depart for Passu Village, which is just half an hour's drive from Attabad lake although there are many stopovers at gorgeous villages!
Reach Shishkat village first and then Gulmit village where we will stop to explore before continuing. The next village is Ghulkin, where there is a glacier viewpoint. Stop for a few minutes and then we head to Hussaini village where there is a suspension footbridge very famous among the tourist attractions in Gojal valley. After the bridge, we will head to Borith lake and enjoy a cup of tea at a restaurant at the lake site. The next stop is Passu village where we will have lunch at the Batora glacier viewpoint.
Return to Hunza for an overnight stay.
day 6 - Naltar Valley
After enjoying your early morning breakfast, the group will head toward Naltar valley which is approximately three hours drive from Hunza. This valley is famous for its dramatic mountain scenery and natural beauty including forests, greenery, and lakes, as well as for its ski resort. It is a perfect place to unplug and connect with nature!
Upon arrival, the group will have tea with snakes and then will leave to explore the nature and beauty of the valley including a viewpoint, snow leopard zoo, and a nature walk.
Have lunch and then will leave to visit the Seven Colors lakes 1, 2, and 3. Dinner will be served, and the group will have time for rest.
day 7 - Free time and Gilgit City tour
Today is about relaxation. After breakfast, you will have leisure time for relaxation, a nature walk, sightseeing, and photography. You will not be bothered much but we will be there at your service if you need it. If you wish, you can just sit and enjoy the views, or enjoy a walk or revisit the lakes.
After lunch, the group will depart for a Gilgit city tour that will include visiting a Chinese symmetry, an old suspension bridge, Karga Budha. The group will then be back to the hotel for dinner, rest, and overnight stay.
day 8 - Fairy Meadows
After early morning breakfast, depart for the Raikot Bridge, about an hour from Gilgit. From the bridge, it is about an hour and a half in a Jeep to Tatoo village and then approximately two hours of trekking to Fairy Meadows. There are horses available to rent if do not wish to trek.
Fairy Meadows, named by German climbers (German Merchandise, ″fairy tale meadows″) and locally known as Joot, is a grassland near one of the base campsites of the Nanga Parbat, located in Diamer District, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. At an altitude of about 3,300 meters above sea level, it serves as the launching point for trekkers summiting on the Rakhiot face of the Nanga Parbat. The mountain sets a backdrop for the Fairy Meadows, making it an appealing and exciting destination for tourists.
After reaching Fairy Meadows, the group will have lunch and then free time for sightseeing and photography. A bonfire and traditional dance to local music will be arranged for the group at night right after dinner. Night stay at a wooden cottage.
*A BBQ is available if you wish, but it is not included in the package.
day 9 - Fairy Meadows and Gilgit
After breakfast, enjoy a nature walk, sightseeing, and photography. After that, have time at your leisure for relaxation and for lunch.
After lunch, depart for Tatoo village and then take a Jeep back to the Raikot bridge. Continue the journey on the Karakoram highway towards Gilgit with a stopover at the junction point of the three mountain ranges, Karakoram, Himalaya, and Hindukush.
Return to Gilgit for dinner and overnight stay.
day 10 - Islamabad City Tour
Early morning breakfast and departure to Gilgit airport for domestic flight from Gilgit to Islamabad. The flight timing is 8:00 am and reaches Islamabad around 9 am.
Upon arrival, depart the airport for an Islamabad city tour and visit Faisal Mosque, Pakistan monument, Daman-e-Koh, and then Monal Pir Sohawa. If time allows, visit some major markets in Islamabad including Centaurus Mall and Supermarket in Islamabad.
day 11 - Departure
Free time in Islamabad to relax and then airport transfer for your departure.
