Arriving in Cairo, you’ll be greeted and assisted with your visa, allowing you to settle in before the real adventure begins. Explore the Egyptian Museum’s treasures and the Giza pyramids, then journey south by overnight train to Aswan. Here, visit Philae Temple and immerse yourself in Nubian hospitality—staying in a traditional guesthouse, sharing home-cooked meals, and learning about local customs.

Optional excursions to Abu Simbel are available for those craving even more wonder. Glide down the Nile on a felucca, then travel north to Luxor, stopping at the impressive Temple of Horus at Edfu. Experience the wonders of the Valley of the Kings, Temple of Hatshepsut, and Karnak, with time for market exploration or optional tours.

day 1Arrive into Cairo, transfer to hotel

Upon arrival our staff will meet you at the airport, assist you with obtaining your visa and luggage, and then transfer you to your hotel for the start of your trip. They will help you settle in, introduce you to the local area, and explain tomorrow's arrangements. The rest of the day is free. If you arrive early you may like to take an evening dinner cruise on the Nile, or enjoy a spectacular sound and light show at the pyramids (both available to book locally on arrival).Extra day in Cairo (5-star) - pre-tour
