Lanzhou City Break, Private Tour

Arrive in Lanzhou, the capital city of Gansu Province in Northwest China. Upon your arrival at the Lanzhou Airport, meet&greet out tour representative who will assist you with the transfer to the hotel and check-in. The rest of the day at leisure. Take an opportunity to get the first sight of this blooming city that used to be a major link on the Northern Silk Road.

Overnight in Lanzhou.

After breakfast at the hotel, we will pick you up at about 9:00 for the visit of Baita Mountain Park. After a 30-minute-long ride, we’ll spend 2 hours exploring the halls and gardens of this Ming Dynasty complex, a site of great historical importance. Then, we´ll drive to Zhangye Road Pedestrian Street, the heart of the ancient city Lanzhou. With a history of over 100 years, it is praised as the oldest and most cultural commercial street of Lanzhou with various malls, stores, and restaurants. Afterwards, you’ll be driven back to your hotel, where you’ll be dropped off at around 14:00 and to further explore the surroundings at leisure.

Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel and get ready to enjoy a full day at leisure in the city of Lanzhou. You can both set out to visit the sites most interesting to you or simply relax at the hotel and enjoy the available services. Alternately, you can choose from one of the optional tours.

Optional tour A: Liujiaxia Reservoir, full-day tour

Liujiaxia Reservoir tour includes high-speed boat from Xiangyang Pier to Bingling Temple (Grottoes) to enjoy the scenery of both sides of Liujiaxia Reservoir. Later in the day, visit Bingling Temple (Grottoes). Then, after lunch (not incl.), take high speed boat back to Xiangyang Pier, from where you´ll be driven back to your hotel.

Walk around Xiahe and visit a Labrang Monastery, the Largest and higher education institution of Tibetan Studies in the world and the largest Tibetan Buddhism cultural center in Gansu.

Maijishan Grottoes, full-day tour is a real adventure. After your pick up at the hotel, you will take a high-speed train from Lanzhou to Tianshui South Railway Station (2nd class seat. The train ref: G1840 (08:53-10:15) or D2656 (09:01-10:23) or D2658 (09:15-10:37)) and drive to Maijishan. There you lay back and enjoy lunch at the local restaurant (not incl). Afterwards, you will visit Maijishan Grottoes, one of the four largest grottoes in China and is known as the "Oriental Sculpture Museum" and have a unique opportunity to admire this Buddhist caves complex.

After a 3-and-a-half- hours -long ride, you´ll be visiting Yellow River Stone Forest Scenic, a large-scale scenic spot located in the southeast of Jingtai County, Baiyin City. Surrounded by mountains, the most characteristic of ancient stone forests, the stone forest landscape in the scenic area, the mountains and rivers are interdependent, and the natural large garden.

After breakfast at the hotel, prepare to check out of your room at the scheduled time and transfer to the airport for your onward or return flight.
