I am really glad I ended up booking the trip to Kerala. Our CEO Shailendra was fab and actually made the trip for me - he was very knowledgeable and worked really hard to look after everyone, he was always available for help or to answer questions. I thought trip was great value, it contributes ethically to the local economy where possible. There are connections to places that I definitively would not have found or organised on my own - also the relationships between the CEO and these places means that they really looked after you since G Adventures will likely be returning to use them again. Having our CEO around made my first trip to India really enjoyable and completely hassle and stress free. Having a quality CEO who also grew up and lives in the country, so understands the systems, means we moved around with ease and not fall victim to tourist scams. I shared a room on a basic level trip and thought it was great. We actually had air conditioning in all the accommodation. There is a nice mix of pace, modes of transport and places to see. I used the transfer through G Adventures as I was arriving solo and late - it is more expensive but very reliable
