Itinerary
We will start the journey with a discovery of the countryside, we will travel by bicycle through the countryside roads greenly surrounded by bamboo, banana, palm trees, and rice field. Our experienced tour guide will share with you some interesting and unique information on how local Vietnamese farmers plant wet rice, cereals, herbs, and vegetable. We make a stop at an organic farm where farmers use only composted river weeds as a natural fertilizer. Then, we cycle and lay visits to a local family where they make colorful sleeping mats out of a particular grass. You will have an overview of the whole process of how people hand-make this kind of traditional mat in Vietnam. We keep cycling through the picturesque and rural villages, and we make stops along the way to see and understand more of the local life and how people make for living like recycled materials shop, making rice noodles…
We will stop at a quiet local restaurant by a palm tree river where you can have some fun experience rowing on a bamboo basket boat (coracle); unique water navigation which’s only found in Vietnam. After a light meal, we continue our cycling and make a special visit to a century-old wooden house of an artisan from Kim Bong Carpentry Village, established back in the 17th century. Here you will have a better understanding of how skillful carpenters build houses, boats, or junk from timbers, then take a boat trip back to Hoi An.
