Italy’s classic wonders come alive on the "Grand Journey of Italy - 11 Days," an easy-paced tour designed for experienced travelers eager to savor the country’s highlights. Starting in Rome, this trip sweeps you through the hilltop charm of Assisi, the artistic treasures of Florence, and the iconic Leaning Tower of Pisa.

Stroll the refined streets of Bologna, glide through the romantic canals of Venice, and soak in Tuscany’s rolling landscapes. The adventure continues south to the haunting ruins of Pompeii, the coastal allure of Sorrento, and the sunlit glamour of Capri—each stop offering a fresh perspective on Italy’s rich heritage.

Throughout the journey, you’ll enjoy comfortable accommodations, seamless transport, and insightful guidance, ensuring a worry-free exploration of each destination. The tour finishes back in Rome, closing the circle on an epic Italian experience.

day 1 - Welcome to Rome & Rome Hop-On Hop-Off ticket

Welcome to Rome! Upon your arrival at the airport, your driver will meet you and take you to your hotel, with the transfer included. You'll have access to a daily Hop-On Hop-Off (one run)., allowing you to explore Rome aboard the Open-Top buses. This unique vantage point offers breathtaking views of the city's most famous landmarks. Simply board the bus, relax, and listen to the informative audio commentary available in 12 languages. You can hop on and off at any of the eight designated stops along the route. The ticket included in your package is valid for one day. Enjoy your evening at your leisure, then return to your hotel for an overnight stay.

day 2 - Discover Assisi - Palio - Siena - Florence

After breakfast, start your journey toward Assisi on a deluxe coach at around 7:15 am. Assisi is a small hill town surrounded by walls, built in the Middle Ages. It is also the birthplace of St. Francis, one of the patron saints of Italy.

The drive from Rome to Assisi takes a few hours. Upon reaching there, explore the town at your own leisure. Visit the Basilica of St. Francis and see the masterpieces by Giotto and Cimabue.

After the tour of the place, you will have some free time for lunch (not included on the tour). Then, board the bus and set out towards Siena, a Unesco World Heritage Site, famed for the Palio, the historical horse race around the shell-shaped town square: Piazza del Campo.

After touring the site, head towards the city of Florence. After reaching there, you will check in to our hotel and enjoy your dinner.

Please note: *Starting from the departure on 30ᵗʰ March 2026, instead of dinner at the hotel in Florence, there will be a lunch in Assisi.

day 3 - Discover the Beautiful Florence

After breakfast at the hotel, set out for the tour of Florence, the cradle of Renaissance, where, with the help of Michelangelo, Italian art reached its pinnacle.

Based on Etruscan/Roman origins, Florence flourished in the Middle Ages as a free “comune” and was further refined during the Renaissance. The city is home to uncountable monuments, churches and buildings. Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore, more commonly referred to as the Duomo, is one of them.

On your visit, you will be amazed by its magnificent dome built by Filippo Brunelleschi. Cross a small piazza to see the “Campanile” tower (partly designed by Giotto) and the Baptistery, with its bronze doors where Michelangelo imagined the “Gates of Paradise.”

In the heart of the city, you will see Piazza della Signoria, also known as Palazzo Vecchio, and the Basilica of Santa Croce.

Lunch in a typical Tuscan restaurant in Piazza Santa Croce. You will then spend the afternoon strolling the cobblestone streets of Florence on your own.

As an optional tour, you can take a short trip to Pisa, one of the four main historical Maritime Republics of Italy. There, you will tour the Piazza dei Miracoli with the Duomo, Pisa’s symbol “The Leaning Tower” and the Baptistery.

day 4 - Bologna - Padua - Padova - Venice: the City of Love

Depart for Bologna after breakfast in the hotel. In Bologna, you will tour the elegant city center with its “porticos”, it’s shopping streets and so on.

From Piazza Malpighi, you will walk to Piazza del Nettuno and Piazza Maggiore (Neptune Square and Major Square) in the heart of the city and then toward King Renzo’s Palace. You will also tour Palazzo Podestà and the Basilica of San Petronio, one of the biggest in the world.

Bologna is also a real gourmet’s heaven. So, while you are there, do not miss to taste the local dishes at your own leisure.

In the afternoon, resume the tour and continue toward Padua, famed for Basilica of Saint Anthony of Padua, one of the most visited churches by pilgrims of the 14 catholic world. After the tour of the place, drive towards Venice, the city of love, check in your hotel and enjoy a delicious dinner.

After enjoying a delightful breakfast in Florence, we head to the elegant city of Bologna. Upon arrival, the charming city center, adorned with its iconic porticoes, invites you to explore during your free time. Begin your walking tour at Piazza Malpighi, leading to the city's heart at Piazza del Nettuno and Piazza Maggiore. Here, you can admire the historic Palazzo Podestà and the Basilica of San Petronio, the largest Gothic church in the world built with bricks. We’ll then reveal why Bologna is often regarded as Italy's gastronomic capital as you dive into its vibrant street food scene, which is as rich and diverse as its culinary heritage. Strolling through the city’s medieval streets, you'll come across an enticing array of food stalls and markets, each offering a tempting selection of traditional and contemporary delicacies. As you explore the charming alleys and lively piazzas, you’ll embark on a culinary adventure that goes far beyond just a meal. With a light street food lunch experience at a local eatery, you’ll have the chance to savor the authentic flavors and unique dishes that define Bologna’s renowned gastronomic identity. In the afternoon, we continue our journey to Venice (Mestre). Upon arrival, check in at your hotel for a peaceful overnight stay.

day 5 - Venice - Piazza San Marco - Palazzo dei Dogi

This morning you will head to Piazza San Marco following breakfast. You will then visit the most iconic places of the “Floating City”: Palazzo dei Dogi, a symbol of Venice’s glorious past, and the legendary “Bridge of Sighs”.

After this walking tour, you will celebrate your Venice tour with a Spritz or a Prosecco with your tour mates and guides. In the afternoon, spend your time exploring Venice’s intricate canal system at your leisure and return to the hotel in the evening.

day 6 - Tuscany Wine Region - Montepulciano - Rome

After breakfast, we depart from Venice and head toward Tuscany, renowned world over for its wine, landscapes, churches and castles.

You will proceed to Val di Chiana with a stop over at Montepulciano, a medieval town rich in art and history. Known for its “Nobile” wine, on purchase in local wine houses, Montepulciano also hosts an annual Jazz and Wine Festival every July.

Enjoy a lunch in a typical restaurant and spend some free time sightseeing in the area on your own. You will then travel back to Rome and check in your hotel.

day 7 - Rome - Vatican Museums - “Skip the Line”

Breakfast at the hotel and between 7:45/8:00 am, departure from the hotel for the included tour of the Vatican Museums with our exclusive “Skip the Line” access! No stress to reach the area: upon arrival, your guide will lead you into the museums where you’ll visit one of the most important art collections in the world. Walk along the beautiful Galleries of Tapestries and Geographical Maps. visit to the Pio Clementino Museum, the Library, and the Momo Staircase and explanation of St Peter's square with focus on the Conclave ancient rules and traditions.

After this incredible masterpiece, you will exit the museums and head to St. Peter’s Basilica. You’ll have the chance to admire the stunning exterior of the biggest church in the world. The tour ends in St. Peter’s Square. Enjoy the rest of the day to explore the city at your own leisure. Overnight stay. (B)

day 8 - Naples - Pompeii - Sorrento

You will be picked up at your hotel after breakfast in the morning for departure toward our next destination.

You will take a coach and head south crossing the regions of Lazio and Campania before reaching Naples. Upon arrival in Naples, you will set out for a short panoramic tour. You will climb up to Vomero hill to enjoy the beautiful views over the Gulf of Naples with the Vesuvius, Capri, Ischia and Procida and the city below.

You will then descend toward the port of Mergellina and leave the city and travel south toward Mount Vesuvius. Once you reach the town of Pompeii, you will enjoy a lunch with the real Neapolitan pizza on the menu. After lunch, you will enter into one of the most important archaeological sites in the world: the ruins of Pompeii. With "Skip the Line" access, you will get to explore the haunting ruins of Pompeii, traveling back in time to the tragic days in 79 AD when the silent Mount Vesuvius suddenly erupted, covering the prosperous Roman city with deadly volcanic ashes and poisonous gases.

In this guided tour of the Unesco World Heritage Site, you will learn how people lived at the time, visiting houses and “bars” of the time, admiring frescoes and mosaics to imagine how rich and prosperous the city used to be before the dreadful disaster.

After the tour of Pompeii, you will drive along the Sorrentine Coast, arriving in Sorrento for dinner.

day 9 - Day 9: Embark on a Riveting *Capri Excursion: Blue Grot

Prepare yourself for an invigorating adventure following your morning meal, as we embark on a captivating journey to the illustrious island of Capri, renowned as one of the Mediterranean's premier summer retreats! Weather and sea conditions permitting, you'll have the opportunity to marvel at the enchanting Blue Grotto aboard a quaint rowboat. Following this mesmerizing experience, enjoy some leisurely free time for lunch (please note that lunch expenses are not included) before venturing to explore the island at your own leisurely pace. As the day draws to a close, we'll bid farewell to the island and make our way back to the mainland, returning to Rome by evening for your final overnight stay.

*During peak season, visiting the Blue Grotto in Capri may involve long lines and limited capacity. If access is not possible, or the weather conditions do not allow it, our guides will suggest alternative attractions to ensure a satisfying and memorable tour (e.g. Faraglioni rocks).

Important Note: During winter time (November -March) Capri Tour may not be organized due to ferry boats schedule. In this case you will have free tme at leisure in Sorrento

day 10 - Sorrento Leisure morning and and departure back to Rome

After breakfast at your hotel, you will have some time to go shopping or tasting some nice Limoncello.

As an option, you may go for a short excursion to the Amalfi coast (not included).

In the afternoon, at around 4:00 pm, you will depart back to Rome.

day 11 - Departure Day and transfer to the airport

According to your flight departure time, you will be transferred to Rome airport to get the fly back carrying in your "luggage" the wonderful memories of Italy Attractions. (B)
