Itinerary

Vietnam’s spellbinding landscapes and vibrant culture are yours to discover on the 15-day Family Vietnam In Depth tour. Perfect for travelers who crave an active, immersive adventure, this trip takes you from the old-world charm of Hanoi to the dynamic bustle of Ho Chi Minh City, with plenty of hands-on experiences along the way.

Cycle through the lush rice paddies and traditional villages of Mai Chau, where stilt houses dot the countryside and local life unfolds at a gentle pace. Glide across the dramatic limestone peaks of Halong Bay, exploring hidden caves and tranquil waters. In the Mekong Delta, switch between bikes and boats to navigate the maze of waterways, participate in a Vietnamese cooking lesson, and stay in a welcoming homestay that offers a true taste of rural hospitality.

History comes alive in Ho Chi Minh City, where you’ll visit the Cu Chi Tunnels and an underground weapons bunker, gaining a deeper understanding of Vietnam’s resilience. Along the way, explore ancient Hoi An, the imperial city of Hue, and the energetic streets of Hanoi.

This moderately active tour balances cultural exploration with outdoor adventure, blending cycling, sightseeing, and unique local activities. Accommodation, transport, and meals are expertly arranged for a seamless experience.

The unique highlight of this trip is the opportunity to engage directly with local communities—whether biking alongside villagers or sharing meals in a family home—giving you a genuine connection to Vietnam’s people and traditions. For travelers wanting to truly experience Vietnam in depth, this tour package promises a dynamic journey filled with memorable moments.

day 1Join trip in Hanoi.

Arrive in Vietnam's capital, Hanoi, which is famous for its rich culture, bustling life, and colonial influences. Its small lakes, busy streets and secluded alleyways are all waiting to be explored.
For those arriving on time, our tour leader plans to meet you in the hotel reception at 6pm for the welcome meeting and for those that wish, there is the chance to go out for dinner. There are no other activities planned today, so you're free to arrive in Hanoi at any time. If you'd like an airport transfer, you'll need to arrive into Noi Bai International Airport (HAN), which is a one-hour drive to the hotel.
If you miss the welcome meeting, our tour leader will leave a note at the hotel reception to inform you of any essential information.
If your flight arrives earlier in the day, you might like to head to the Old Quarter and explore the maze of narrow lanes that are named after the various crafts of Hanoi's artisans. The pavements around here are filled with food sellers tempting you with steaming noodles, snacks and stir-fried delights, too.

Carl

Great tour package for us. Very reasonably priced. A phone call with customer service helped clarify scheduling coordination concerns. Booking was a straight forward and an uncomplicated process. We are excited about our planned adventure. Our only problem was in inputting the discount code correctly to achieve the advertised discount. Just didn’t happen.
