Itinerary

GROUP TOUR (FOR AGES 18 - 55): Take in the best of Colombia and Peru on this 15-day tour from Medellin to Puno. Enjoy guided sightseeing in Cali, Bogota and Cusco, embark on a 4-day trek in the Andes to Machu Picchu and cruise on the shimmering waters of Lake Titicaca. Learn how to dance the Tango, cycle around Bogota and visit the magical Rainbow Mountain in Peru, plus so much more.

day 1Welcome to Medellin, Colombia!

Welcome to Medellin! Get together with the group and your tour leader in the hostel this morning (we recommend arriving in Medellin the day before your tour starts) for a trip briefing.
We will then embark on a guided walk through Comuna 13, a lively neighbourhood, famous for its street art and resilient history, that has evolved into a hub of urban renewal, with striking murals and scenic views. After, you will have the chance to enjoy lunch as a group at the Mercado del Río, a local food market offering a variety of Colombian cuisines. We will then learn Spanish terms from our guide, which will help you throughout your tour.
We’ll explore Medellín’s iconic landmarks, including Plaza Botero, Palacio de la Cultura Rafael Uribe Uribe, and the Catedral Basílica Metropolitana. If you are looking for something more adrenaline pumping, you can opt to join a paragliding flight over the city offering a new perspective over the city.
In the evening, you will have the opportunity to opt to go watch a local football match at Estadio Atanasio Giradot (depending on the fixtures). If there are no available matches to watch, you can opt to try Tejo, a local game that involves throwing clay at gunpowder to create a small explosion. Alternatively, you can enjoy some drinks and salsa at El Poblado - one of Medellín’s safe party streets.
