day 1Welcome to Boston
Your East Coast adventure begins in Boston. If you arrive early, you may wish to opt for a whale watching cruise, heading out towards Cape Cod to spot humpback whales and other marine life in their natural feeding grounds.
This afternoon, we meet your Travel Crew and Adventure Leader for a brief orientation before heading out to explore. We cross the Charles River to Cambridge to visit Harvard University, the oldest higher education institution in the United States. We wander through the historic campus, browse local bookshops, and have time to visit the art museum or sample a famous Mike’s Pastry cannoli.
Back in Boston, we walk a section of the Freedom Trail, following the red-brick route past some of the city’s most important Revolutionary-era landmarks. For dinner, you can choose between Quincy Market or the North End, known for its Italian heritage and food scene.
The evening is yours to enjoy. If the Red Sox are playing, you may want to soak up the atmosphere at Fenway Park. Alternatively, you could join a ghost tour or check out one of Boston’s well-known comedy clubs. Boston wrapped up - tomorrow, we move on.
