Mattancherry Palace is a great place to start your exploration of Kochi. Also known as the Dutch Palace, it was built by Portuguese merchants in 1545 AD as a gift to the king of Kochi. Nearby is the Paradesi Synagogue, the oldest Jewish synagogue in India still in use.
