Join an extraordinary adventure through Bolivia, where breathtaking landscapes and vibrant culture meet in perfect harmony. Begin your journey in La Paz, high in the Andes, where bustling markets, colorful colonial streets, and proud Aymara traditions bring the city to life. Continue to Valle de las Ánimas, where dramatic rock spires reach toward the sky, and explore the surreal Valle de la Luna, sculpted into moon-like shapes by nature’s hand.
Feel the thrill along the legendary Yungas Road, then glide across the sacred waters of Lake Titicaca, visiting floating islands and peaceful lakeside villages. Step onto the vast Salar de Uyuni, a dazzling salt flat where sky and earth blend into one, and venture into the wild Pampas Wetlands, alive with capybaras, caimans, and colorful birdlife.
This journey combines adventure, culture, and natural wonder beautifully, with stays in distinctive salt hotels and unforgettable stargazing moments that make your Bolivian experience truly magical.
Your Bolivian journey begins in the charming colonial city of La Paz, a vibrant destination surrounded by breathtaking nature. The city’s Old Town invites you to wander through streets lined with elegant buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries, offering a glimpse into Bolivia’s rich history. One of today’s highlights is the stunning Valle de las Ánimas Canyon, located just beyond the city’s edge. Don’t miss a ride on the famous cable cars, especially the green and yellow lines, an unforgettable experience found almost nowhere else on Earth.
Today you’ll fly from La Paz to the charming town of Rurrenabaque before continuing by road to the village of Santa Rosa. From there, enjoy a scenic boat ride along the Yacuma River, leading you to your ecolodge deep in Bolivia’s breathtaking wetlands. Here, river cruises offer endless wonder as you explore this thriving ecosystem. Spend the day spotting caimans, playful monkeys, the distinctive capybara, and a dazzling variety of birdlife. All meals during your stay are provided by the ecolodge, allowing you to fully relax and savor the experience.
Before heading to Rurrenabaque, take full advantage of the area’s natural wonders: try your hand at fishing, glide along the rivers alongside playful pink dolphins, keep an eye out for elusive anacondas, and marvel at the abundance of stunning wildlife around you.
Before traveling overnight by bus to the town of Uyuni. Don’t worry, the seats almost fully recline as you take in the very best of La Paz. Start with Valle de la Luna, or Moon Valley, where surreal, otherworldly rock formations create a landscape unlike anywhere else.
Next, visit Plaza Murillo to admire the exterior of the Plurinational Legislative Assembly and the Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of Peace.
Experience the city from above on the red and blue cable car lines, offering sweeping panoramic views of the bustling streets below. Finally, stop at Plaza San Francisco, where you can explore the plaza itself and, if open, climb to the top of San Francisco Cathedral for spectacular vistas across the city.
Your 3-day 4×4 safari tour begins immediately, starting with a visit to the Train Cemetery, where a guided tour introduces you to its fascinating history. Next, explore the salt factory in the village of Colchani with another guided tour, followed by lunch, which is included as part of today’s experience.
After lunch, head to the Salar de Uyuni, the largest salt flat on Earth, formed from transformations between several prehistoric lakes. Begin with a guided look at some of the salt wells to understand their geological formation, then admire the striking salt piles shaped like cones.
Continue to the old Salt Hotel, now a museum, before visiting Isla Incahuasi, a stunning island in the middle of the flats, perfect for capturing postcard-worthy photos. Your day concludes in the village of San Juan, where you stay overnight, with dinner included around 8:30 pm.
Please note that today’s itinerary may vary slightly during the wet season, from January through March.
The destinations for today are Cañapa Lagoon, then Hedionda Lagoon, then Honda Lagoon, then Siloli Desert and finally Laguna Colorada (a.k.a. Red Lagoon). Laguna Hedionda is notable for various migratory species of pink and white flamingos. Llamas and alpacas are also seen grazing in the area. Home to flamingos, Laguna Colorada is a shallow salt lake whose white color contrasts with the reddish color of its waters. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and lodging are all included on today’s tour.
Today’s journey takes you to a series of remarkable natural wonders, beginning with Cañapa Lagoon, followed by Hedionda Lagoon, Honda Lagoon, the Siloli Desert, and finally Laguna Colorada, also known as Red Lagoon.
Laguna Hedionda is famous for attracting various migratory species of pink and white flamingos, while llamas and alpacas graze peacefully along its shores. The day culminates at Laguna Colorada, a shallow salt lake where the striking reddish waters contrast beautifully with white mineral deposits, and flocks of flamingos add vibrant life to the scene.
Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and lodging are all included as part of today’s tour, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in this extraordinary landscape.
Today you’ll take a day trip from La Paz to the charming village of Copacabana, where you’ll visit its famous cathedral. From there, enjoy a boat ride to Sun Island on Lake Titicaca.
On the island, a guided walking tour takes you first to the Inca palace and then to the Inca stairway. Archaeologists have found evidence that people lived here as far back as the third millennium BC. Many of the island’s hills are covered with agricultural terraces, ingeniously adapting steep and rocky terrain for farming. Around 800 families call this island home, making it the perfect place to fully immerse yourself in authentic Bolivian culture.
Today you’ll take a day trip from La Paz to the scenic mountain pass of La Cumbre, where your adventure along Yungas Road begins. Known as “The World’s Most Dangerous Road,” it earned this reputation for its steep slopes and narrow single track. A modern alternative, completed in 2006 after 20 years of construction, expanded the carriageway to two lanes, added asphalt paving, bridges, drainage, and guardrails, and created a new section between Chusquipata and Yolosa, bypassing the most hazardous stretches of the original road.
Later, enjoy a biking tour further down the mountain, exploring the same dramatic area from a different perspective. Complimentary photos and short video clips of your journey are provided via email. Lunch is included and served at a hotel, where you can also take a refreshing swim before continuing your adventure.
Transportation will be arranged to take you to the airport in La Paz, ensuring a smooth and stress-free departure.
