Today, our journey begins as we board the boat at 15:30 in Bodrum Harbour. For our first evening, we’ll stay anchored in the port, enjoying a delicious onboard dinner followed by an overnight stay. Bodrum, rich with history dating back to the 12th century B.C., was once known as Halicarnassus. This ancient city was the birthplace of Herodotus, famously known as the ‘Father of History’.
In Bodrum, you’ll find the impressive Mausoleum of King Mausolus, built around 350 B.C., which was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Another highlight is the iconic Castle of Saint Peter, an immaculately preserved piece of medieval architecture that stands as a symbol of the city. For a step further into Bodrum’s storied past, explore Myndos Gate, the very entrance Alexander the Great used to enter ancient Halicarnassus.
