Upon arriving at Lima International Airport, you'll board a domestic flight to Cusco, soaring over the breathtaking snow-capped Andes Mountains. Cusco, at 11,440 feet, is the oldest continuously inhabited city in the Western Hemisphere. From there, you'll be met and transferred to Urubamba in the Sacred Valley, stopping en route to explore the vibrant Pisac Market and the Manos de la Comunidad. Next, visit the village of Ollantaytambo, where Inca street layouts and town planning remain remarkably preserved, framed by meticulously terraced hills. Dominating the village’s cobbled streets, inhabited since the 13th century, is the awe-inspiring Inca Fortress and the Temple of the Sun, with its massive monolithic stones. Constructed by Pachacuti in the 1400s, this grand complex showcases intricate stonework and a ceremonial temple atop fortified terraces. Climb over 200 steps to the summit for stunning views and a closer look at the expertly crafted masonry, along with the remnants of ancient temples and ceremonial fountains.
