Itinerary
Imagine waking up to the sounds of the Okavango Delta or gazing across Etosha’s endless salt pans—this 12-day small group explorer tour brings Namibia and Zambia’s wild beauty to families seeking an immersive yet comfortable getaway. Beginning in Livingstone and ending in Swakopmund, the route covers Nata, Windhoek, and several more highlights, blending wildlife encounters with cultural experiences. All accommodations, transportation, and meals are organized, making travel easy for families. The standout feature? Guided access to both the Okavango Delta’s lush waterways and Etosha’s famed game viewing, offering a diverse safari adventure in just under two weeks.
day 1 - Livingstone
Our tour starts today with a visit to Victoria Falls - the smoke that thunders. There are plenty of optional activities available here, so look at arriving a couple of day prior to your tour beginning to enjoy these fully.
day 2 - Livingstone to Kasane, Botswana
We depart Livingstone today and make the short trip crossing the border into Botswana. This afternoon we visit Chobe National Park taking a Fish Eagle cruise along the Chobe river spotting the wildlife on the banks.
day 3 - Kasane to Nata
Rising early, we board our open 4x4 safari vehicle and make tracks for the Chobe National Park. Entering the gates, we game drive in search for lions, elephants, buffalo and the numerous antelope species. After a successful game drive, we head south to Nata and our accommodation for the evening - Elephant Sands. There are no fences here so you may get to see elephant and antelope roaming freely and drinking form the resident watering hole.
day 4 - Nata to Maun
Today we drive to Maun - the tourist capital of Botswana and the gateway to the Okavango Delta. After a short visit to the centre of town, we head to our accommodation just outside the city centre. Relax by the pool or opt for an optional activity - horse riding or a scenic flight.
day 5 - Maun to Okavango Delta
Today we make our way to the Okavango Delta to explore this water wonderland by transfer vehicle to the polers station, mokoro, and on foot. A maze of sparkling lagoons, meandering channels and overgrown islands make this a unique and memorable experience. Our tented camp offers some basic comfort but still has the open wilderness feeling.
day 6 - Okavango Delta to Maun
Relaxed and revitalised from our overnight bush experience, we make our way back to Maun with an easy-paced mokoro ride along the waterways. If time allows we may arrive back in Maun to enjoy an optional scenic flight over the Okavango Delta.
day 7 - Maun, Botswana to Omaheke Region, Namibia
Today we head towards the edge of the Kalahari Desert and cross the border into Namibia. Here we meet the San/Bushman who take us on a guided bush walk to show us their way of life.
day 8 - Ghanzi to Windhoek, Namibia
Heading west today, we make our way to the capital of Namibia, Windhoek. Windhoek is a small capital by global standards with an approximate population of 200,000 people.
day 9 - Windhoek to Etosha National Park
Today we make our way north to Namibias greatest wildlife sanctuary - Etosha National Park. At over 20,000 sq km surrounding by a central salt pan, the abundance of game in this park is somewhat unexpected, showcasing some of the most common and rarest wildlife species in the world. We arrive in the afternoon and game drive to our accommodation inside the park
day 10 - Etosha National Park
Etosha is home to 114 species of mammals, including four of the Big Five no buffalo and the worlds largest concentration of black rhino. Today we enjoy a full day game driving scoping the park in search for these amazing creatures. As night falls, its back to our accommodation. Here you can enjoy wildlife at its best from the floodlit watering hole.
day 11 - Etosha to Spitzkoppe
Rising early, we game drive out of Etosha and make tracks to the Damaraland region where we spend the night under the starry skies of Spitzkoppe. At 1728 m above sea level, this monolith is often called the Matterhorn of Namibia. We explore its rocky outcrops in the late afternoon in search of the amazing and ancient bushman paintings of the area.
day 12 - Spitzkoppe to Swakopmund
On our final day we leave Spitzkoppe and make our way to the Atlantic coast and the town of Swakopmund. Swakopmund has some great activities such as sandboarding, quad biking and sky diving to enjoy, so we would recommend booking yourself some additional days here.
