I booked this trip for my daughter and me. She wanted action and adventure, every day, and this trip delivered. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the hotels. Much nicer than I expected, given the low cost of this to her. Most of the transportation was fairly high-quality as well. The bus too, and from the rafting was nothing fancy, but certainly nothing to worry about.
Be prepared to spend a little more time than you might expect in transit. That's a function of Costa Rican infrastructure. Lots of one lane roads means travel between cities can be really slow. But the scenery is gorgeous. If you just consider it part of the adventure, and enjoy it, it's not a problem.

I had the best time on the Northern Thailand 14-day tour. It was so relaxing, and I felt completely safe knowing that wherever our tour guide took us would be amazing. I loved supporting local communities and learning about Thai culture in such a personal and meaningful way through our guide.
Some of the highlights for me were hiking to waterfalls, visiting temples, feeding and washing elephants, going river rafting, and so many other unforgettable experiences. My favorite part was hiking up to a small village in the mountains, meeting and getting to know wonderful people, and playing with local children.
Our tour guide also suggested the best restaurants and bars. I loved traveling with so many new people, many of whom I now call friends.
I’ve already recommended this tour to my sister, and I just hope she gets a tour guide as caring and organized as Smile (my tour guide). He shared personal stories that helped us understand the culture through his own experiences, and he was always patient and happy to answer our million questions.
He made sure everyone was safe, whether it was looking after us when we were sick or making sure we got home safely after a night out. He was also incredibly accommodating when it came to any extra wishes or concerns.
Smile was both a caring friend, opening up to us on a personal level, and a great leader who was organized and supportive in every way. He shared so much about the history and culture, making the experience truly meaningful.

Great trip run by professional tour operators. Our initial apprehensions about our first overseas trip post pandemic were put to rest by the excellent arrangements including day planning and lodging starting from receiving us at the airport. We felt at ease and relaxed throughout the trip. In short, the tour operator demonstrated how a professional tour needs to be operated. Everything was booked ahead of time, we didn't have to worry about hotels, transportation, or food (as some in our party were vegetarian)! Mario answered all of our questions and was very knowledgeable about everything Costa Rica. While driving to our excursions, Mario went above and beyond by pointing out toucans that flew in front of us as well as stopping to observe the howler monkeys, buffalos, and pineapple crops. Mario also helped us customize our trip by adding an extra day to our tour. At the end of our trip, Mario gifted us some local coffee and key chains as well!We went to Costa Rica June 2021 and were very impressed with the country's covid regulations (we had to wear masks and wash our hands before entering any establishment) which made us feel very safe.Overall, we would recommend Greenway Tours to anyone and happily book with them in the future. We had a great trip. It was an amazing way to see a country in a short space of time on a limited budget. It didn't feel like being rushed about - we had a nice amount of free time and alone time to do our own things. Our group was really special and really added to my experience.
