The trip provided me the opportunity as a solo traveler to visit many amazing sites all on one vacation, and do so with a likeminded group of people. I had an amazing adventure because of the itinerary, my fellow travelers, and Coach Katie Fraine!

An un-hurried but comprehensive experience with good optional activities. It compared well with my previous trips in Alaska that included Denali NP, Kenai Fjords NP, Seward and Anchorage. I was pleased to re-visit my love of Alaska with family members. Excited to see my first caribou but missed seeing more bears. New for me on this trip were more time to explore Alaskan Native culture and lifestyle and the eclectic charm of small town Talkeetna.

The Alaska in Winter: Northern Lights & Dog Sledding Adventure is an eight-day tour designed for experienced travelers seeking easy-paced thrills and authentic cultural encounters.
Your journey begins in Anchorage, where you’ll explore historical landmarks and the stories of Alaska’s Indigenous peoples at the Alaska Native Heritage Center. Aboard the Aurora Winter Train, glide through frozen tundra to Fairbanks, where you’ll chase the elusive Northern Lights on a magical nighttime quest.
Other highlights include a walk atop the shimmering Matanuska Glacier, a visit to the festive town of North Pole, and a rejuvenating soak in Chena Hot Springs. Throughout, you’ll enjoy a balance of guided sightseeing and leisurely moments, making this trip both comfortable and unforgettable.
