This tour was amazing! Definitely a must do! As usual, Expat manage to cram so much into such a short amount of time without making it feel rushed! Matt, our Tour Guide, made sure everything ran smoothly and made sure this experience was the best for everyone. His knowledge of South Africa and all of the animals in Kruger was phenomenal. The accomodation was very clean and comfortable, and the included meals were absolutely delicious. If you're heading to South Africa, this tour is a must!

Going to South Africa was our 4th Expat tour. We leave soon for our 5th. We truly love the design of these tours, the tour leaders, and how much it takes off our plates to plan. We show up and enjoy. For anyone considering this trip you will not be disappointed. There are penguins, birds, monkeys, the Big Five, history, beauty, and extremely kind people everywhere. The mountains and oceans alone are stunning. Whether you get up and personal with sharks, go ziplining, or jump off the tallest bungee in the world, this trip has it all. Our tour leader, Matt, was organized, funny, and full of history and amazing stories about his homeland. You will not leave disappointed or without being educated in African culture, some government, the people, the generations, and a good sense of what this country has lived through. This was the best tour I've ever been on! Our guide Matt was incredible from start to finish. He was knowledgable about the animals and history, made us laugh and kept us safe at all times. I experienced the culture from not only Matt but from our game drive trackers, excursion tour guides, and Timbavati Lodge staff. When I was unexpectedly scratched by a monkey Matt made sure I was ok and got me to the doctor to ease my mind. I made friends for life with my fellow travelers and can't wait to go on another adventure with Expat next year!

A safari that lived up to and exceeded expectations. Our guide KK was very experienced and knowledgeable. Quote from another traveller on their 3rd safari... "don't bother with another safari Joyce; you will be disappointed". Lying in our tent at night listening to hyenas, elephants and other non-identified animals is something we will never forget, nor will we forget watching lions moving into the shade of our vehicle as we watched them walking in the sand. The lovely lodges that were also part of the package and two nights on the Okovango River made for a fabulous diversified experience. Thank you Explore!

I absolutely would recommend this trip to anyone. It is a very active tour because you are on the go all of the time, but we saw and experienced so much. I got just enough of a taste to want to return. I would also recommend adding at least a day, or two, before and after the tour.

My experience was amazing and took me out of my comfort zone with the onsite camping in the Okavango Delta. However, the people and the experiences we met along the way surpassed any negatives. One other thing I forgot to mention about our CEO was that it would have been more engaging if he had identified various markers along the way. For example, our taxi drive to WDH airport pointed out landmarks and items of interest on our way to the airport that our guide could maybe have identified to enrich our knowledge.

Great package, full immersion into Southern Africa with Safaris, and the absolute highlight the Victoria falls (make sure you book a helicopter flight on top privately). Also recommend to combine with Cape Town (went on my own afterwards and was perfect finish)

Overall this was an excellent tour. The Cape Town section was great with a wide variety of sites to visit. The lunch at Penguino in Hermanus was delicious and hilarious. The Cullinan Hotel was very good and we appreciated the visit to the District Six museum - an eye opener. However, the transition to Hoedspruit was poor - we were not given our flight times, the flight was delayed for 5 hours, there was no direct communication with Trafalgar. That was redeemed at the Karongwe game reserve - great game viewing (Big 5 + cheetahs in 2 days) with skilled rangers and simple, comfortable accommodation. The food was good except, surprisingly, the meat was tough. The staff there were very courteous and friendly. The brief visit to Johannesburg was very good: the guided tours to the Old Fort Prison and new Constitutional Court and to Regina Mundi church and other sites in Soweto were really great. As former South Africans, we thought this tour gave all of us an excellent, short overview of the Cape, the Bush and Johannesburg. And we appreciated the personalized attention to detail from Trafalgar s guides.
