We were disappointed with the limited English spoken by the guide particularly in Morrocco but also in Portugal. We always understood what was going on but we felt we missed out on extra information that could have been interesting. We also were not aware of the flexibility of travelling with this company. We did not realise we could have travelled on to Porto for example so we organised this transfer ourselves We also did not do one of the optional tours and had to find out own way back to the hotel. We felt this was rather poor. We had booked the Fado tour in Lisbon but this was not discussed with anyone and we were just told it was cancelled without any consultation?? Otherwise an overall enjoyable trip

However we had a tour guide called Xavier who we met in Amsterdam and took us to end Berlin after sightseeing Hamelin
He was absolutely uninterested in his job and upon asking a relevant question he was always reluctant to answer
It seemed that he hated his job. He even after the bus left at the Berlin hotel left us without handing the key card. He really did not care about any of the passengers who mostly all had bad encounters with him
On the other hand I would give 11 stars out of 10 to EVA who was fantastic and went out of her way to make the tour lively and was so full of energy and do was GEORGE our first guide who was really nice and very very organised and good hearted. Both EVA amd GEORGE amd even ISRAEL were very good and exceeded their excellence EXCEPT XAVIER who was a total disaster guide who really everyone made everyone feel uncomfortable by stating his intro speech “ That we are his nightmare” On his introduction speech introducing himself . He was grumpy and had an unapproachable look on his face most of the times. He behaved as if he was the boss of Euromundo and we are his slaves. No one was happy with him

An expedition through the heart of Africa from days of old. From crossing deserts, rivers and mountains and overcoming a multitude of challenges this continent can throw at you, inter-twined with stunning National Parks, adventure activity play grounds and UNESCO World Heritage sites, this is a trip that will linger in the memory long after you finish.
Note: Due to the ongoing situation in Sudan we expect to overfly from Cairo (flight at your cost) and join the truck in Addis Ababa. We would complete the Egypt section using public transport and local hotels and extend our time in northern Kenya and Ethiopia. We ran our 2022/23 Trans Africa expedition in this way and it worked very well.
Note: This is one of our Overland Adventures which are run on a participatory basis – you’ll be involved in the day to day running of the trip and have fun helping to cook for the group. Expect to sometimes get dusty and dishevelled and not to be able to have hot showers every night. Groups of up to 24 people are led by our crew of two.
