What a wonderful trip! This trip activity level is rated 3 of 4 (strenuous) so be prepared for lots of walking and hiking, although it is ALL very doable. We loved being on the highest mountain peaks, our local guides were knowledgeable and fun, and the towns we visited were quintessential Alps. Our tour guide and driver were so engaging and fun. Versailles was a beautiful city, and the gardens and area was wonderful. We say the open markets with beautiful food for sale. The area had so many places we could walk to and explore. The palaces were over the top in elegance, and I can see why the poor French people were angry.
