China: fantastic trip, saw the sites, are good food, learned, Howard was top notch, pace and transport was perfect and all well-timed
Japan: Hidemi was great but there was too much trudging in the rail / metro system. Koyasan and Hakone were not worth it in my opinion for the amount of work it took to get there.

I liked the itinerary very much. Our tour guide Jose was very knowledgeable about the sites we visited. I was not informed beforehand that this was a English and Spanish mixed language tour, Joses English was good but sometimes hard to understand. I also did not know that we would be having people added to our tour almost every day and some leaving almost every day. I enjoy tours more when you have a change to get to know who you are traveling with and with a mix of English and Spanish it felt like I was on my own and traveling with strangers.

Meeting new people from different parts of the world and traveling with them to different places and learning about the beautiful and unique culture of japan with the help of two incredible guides,i.e., Mr Reigutsu and Mr. David is what i liked most about the tour. Both of them were excellent guides and being in their company was truly enjoyable.
David Solanes is one of the best tour guides we have ever had and we have taken at least 25 tours. He was very professional, funny, attentive, accommodating, and very knowledgeable. Paco out of Tokyo was also great - he went above and beyond to accommodate our request to upgrade to first class on bullet train and made sure we are all ok during the train rides. The only thing that was tough was the monastery stay. Info from travel agent indicated it was an option but was not. It would have been better if there was a hotel option for the convenience of people who can’t rough it.
Get ready to experience authentic and historic Japan on this 7-day cycling tour of the Kansai region. Visit Kyoto's must-sees before embarking on a breathtaking circuit encompassing natural vistas, traditional villages, onsens (hot springs), majestic temples, peaceful shrines, manicured tea plantations, delectable cuisine and so much more. These are some of the best roads for cycling in all of Japan - perfect for first time visitors and frequent travelers to the country alike!
The adventure begins in historic Kyoto, pedaling back in time as we explore the stunning legacies of the city’s history and some of Japan's most valuable cultural heritage. The following days we cycle on a lovely route taking us through an undulating landscape of forests and rice fields dissected by mountain streams and dotted with traditional villages, farms, Shinto shrines, and legendary temples. We skirt the shores of the beautiful Lake Biwa, Japan’s largest lake, and then ride on a series of scenic roads leading to Nara, a quaint city lovingly referred to as “mini Kyoto”. Along the way we’ll explore the Edo-era canals of Omihachiman and pass through the Wazuka region, a truly stunning rural area comprising tea fields expertly carved into the hillsides over many centuries. We will spend two nights in Nara, where we’ll discover its proud heritage sites and take part in a traditional tea ceremony! The last day we ride back to Kyoto with a visit to the photogenic Arashiyama bamboo grove along the way.
This is quintessential Japan done right!

I loved this tour, not just for the beautiful sights but for how much I learned. Japan is so different from North America in terms of culture, manners, even how people move through a city. I found it fascinating.
The tour guide didn’t just take us from place to place. He taught us about Shinto traditions, post-war history, Japanese etiquette (like how to bow or take off your shoes in homes), and more. I felt like I came home not just with photos, but with a better understanding of the world.
We saw cherry blossoms, temples, even deer in Nara Park. Hiroshima moved me deeply. The whole trip was emotional and eye-opening, but in the best way.
I’m 66, and this tour was easy on the body and stimulating for the mind. What more could you ask for?
