The jungle experience was brilliant. Being surrounded by so much nature and wildlife was a lot of fun. Everyone in Sauraha was really friendly and welcoming. The hotel I stayed at was lovely, with delicious food and a comfortable, spacious room with a great shower. I didn't enjoy seeing so many captive elephants as they looked really sad but I was given the option to not go on the elephant ride so I got an extra jeep safari experience which I enjoyed. I really loved the canoe experience too.

It was a fast paced trip. It is a bit difficult staying only one night in a few places, just the logistics of packing up several nights and having everything ready for the next day is challenging. Ycel our tour leader was exceptional, very knowledgeable about Cuba's history and very organised! Due to a hurricane we have to move Casa's but there was no problem at all and the issue was dealt with at short notice. Cuba is such a beautiful island and the Vinales region is in particularly special. As a group we would have all liked to stay overnight here and spend some more time here. We definitely got to experience life as the locals do and experienced numerous blackouts , added with a hurricane that knocked out the power for 2 days across the whole island! Despite this the locals are so resilient , welcoming and are happy to help. Our itinerary might not have gone entirely to plan due to things being closed due to the Hurricane but this in no way affected us thoroughly enjoying our holiday.
