Kenya's week-long safari adventure was an unforgettable journey, taking us from the breathtaking elephant herds of Amboseli National Park beneath Mount Kilimanjaro, to serene early-morning boat rides among hippos on Lake Naivasha, and the vibrant birdlife of Lake Nakuru, where hundreds of species filled the skies. It concluded with the wildlife-rich plains of the Masai Mara, where we encountered lions, rhinos, giraffes, and zebras in their natural habitat. This tour provider hits it out of the park on the big wins: safety, logistics, and expertise. Their guides conducted twice daily health checks, measuring blood oxygen to ensure we were acclimating appropriately and they had medication ready to cover any malady. On summit day they carried oxygen as a safety measure that I found necessary after experiencing altitude sickness and the team even provided it to another suffering climber whose guides were not carrying oxygen. Not all guide services have these safety measures!
The logistics flow was impressive from the get-go with airport and hotel shuttles. The camp logistics on-mountain was even more so. We’d depart camp after breakfast, they’d have tea and snacks set up along the trail, and we’d arrive at lunch to find the mess tent already set up with lunch ready, just to find it and our sleeping tents set up again at the end of the hike with tea and popcorn waiting and dinner shortly to follow. The consideration that the Porter team put into our comfort was overwhelming.
The expertise of the team was unquestionable. The company clearly takes hiring very seriously and recruits knowledgeable guides. Professionals across the board whom we greatly trusted.
With the big wins checked off in style, the company goes above and beyond with personal touches that make the trip truly memorable. I think the most memorable for us was the tradition and ceremony that the team brought to the experience - celebratory group singing and dancing especially, even cakes and champagne! Then small things like hot water bottles to keep sleeping bags warm really made us feel well cared for.
Our Kenya safari was an amazing experience with so many highlights. Beautiful scenery, comfortable and high quality accommodation and best of all we were lucky to see “the big five” close up as well as many other animals and birds. Memories of seeing lions, cheetahs and one beautiful leopard up close will forever stay in my memory.
Our tour leader Hussein was outstanding. He would always go the extra mile to make sure we all had a great experience. Always friendly, full of information and a great organiser, driver and wildlife spotter!

Spending eight nights surrounded by wild life and its beauty was a dream come true. Tanzania is very rich in both flora and fauna. We really enjoyed our safari in every national park we've visited. Ngorongoro crater was my number one. I really recommend this trip to Tanzania, exploring its rich culture, history and nature.

Absolutely wonderful experience climbing Kilimanjaro. From pre-tour planning at home to be picked up and dropped off at the airport and everything in between was well managed. Our guide made us feel as if we were his family and took good care of us. Even the meals prepared during the climb were delicious. We are glad that he led us to Kili and back. Great job, HG and the entire team.
This holiday delivered on every front. We saw so much wildlife and enjoyed the variety of parks and environments. We were very lucky in having a small group and this added to the enjoyment. The Tortilis camps are fabulous and on 2 occasions catered for only 4 guests eight 18 staff. The tents are wonderful and met all our needs. However our fellow guests did experience issues with hot water for their shower on several occasions but staff did endeavour to resolve the issue each time.
Hamse, our guide, was great and also helped us arrange an air balloon trip over the Serengeti which enhanced the overall trip.
