The Nepal and Bhutan Tour has been designed to combine the most exciting highlights from both of the countries and give a thorough overview of the life and nature in this fascinating part of the world.
The tour starts off in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal and the capital of Nepal’s culture, religion and architecture. The vibrant history of this mystical and ancient place has left its mark in the distinctive architecture that ornaments the city. The Himalayan giants are visible from the city itself and combine with the ancient architecture for spectacular views. We'll take you to the edge of the Kathmandu valley to the famous tourist destination of Nagarkot Village, where you will get an even more spectacular view of the Himalayan range.
Nepal is much more than just the Himalayas. We'll also take you to the lakeside town of Pokhara to explore Nepal from a completely different angle. Here, you will be able to relax and enjoy chilled drinks while admiring the reflection of the Himalayas in the crystal clear Phewa lake.
After Pokhara, the journey continues to Bhutan – a small kingdom completely spread out on the foothills of the Himalayas. Bhutan will amaze you with its natural beauty and peculiar secluded culture that has managed to survive the modern world thanks to the country’s seclusion. This is one of Bhutan’s biggest charms. We'll make sure that you visit all the must-see locations including the capital Thimpu.
The journey will continue to Punakha and back Paro for the Taktsang Monastery hike. All of these places reflect a history and culture unimaginable for the foreign visitor, perfectly combined with the mesmerizing Himalayan setting.
We are eager and happy to take you along on our journey and help you discover just how magical this region of the world can be!
Vietnam’s remote north-eastern frontier holds a special mystique, even for seasoned Vietnamese travelers. There is a reverence for the vast scale of its dense jungles, jagged mountain ranges, clear streams and deep canyons; for the sheer number of indigenous ethnic groups, each with distinct languages and customs, different from one valley to the next; and for the region's formative role in the Vietnamese identity from ancient times until the present. This is also the heartland of Vietnamese independence: it was in the gorges and caverns of the North-East that the national hero, Ho Chi Minh, trained and built up his nascent guerilla army to prevail first against the occupying French, then eventually against the Americans and South Vietnamese. Today, this is a peaceful and welcoming land, with smiles aplenty from local denizens as we roll through their small villages and farms. Every bend in the road brings sights and encounters that will stay with us as we pedal our way across this formidable territory.
We first meet in Hanoi, then depart for a day of lakeside riding to Vu Linh. From here, the spectacular territory and tougher cycling begin, as we make our way to Hoang Su Phi and Quan Ba. Stunning geological formations and an array of cultural stops await as we enter the Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark. We then enter Cao Bang Province, passing over the famous Ma Pi Leng Pass to arrive in Bao Lac. Approach the Chinese border on remote roads as you make your way deeper into the province, with views of rice terraces and dazzling mountain ranges stretching as far as the eye can see. The Pac Bo caves, favoured hiding spot of Ho Chi Minh, make for an evocative stop before we continue on roads flanked by stilted houses and water buffalo. The towering cascades of Ban Gioc Waterfall greet us in the soft morning light before we ride through charming stone villages and arrive in lively Cao Bang City for a night. Leave town on a sustained climb surrounded by gorgeous countryside, with an equally long downhill as we arrive at serene Ba Be Lake, a favourite natural sanctuary. Our last ride takes us southward out of the mountains towards Bac Kan, and we then return to Hanoi, emerging from this thrilling whirl through the realms of the north!
Join us as we venture to the heights of Vietnam’s frontier on this unforgettable 12-day road cycling journey!

From the lofty peaks of the Truong Son Mountains to the sandy shores of the Gulf of Tonkin, this is a Vietnamese road cycling dream come true. Test your endurance over 1,000 kilometers of diverse terrain, uncovering vestiges of former empires, the lingering legacies of the Vietnam-America War, striking limestone formations, shimmering lagoons, and vibrant cultures. We go local in Vietnam’s further-flung regions and enjoy elevated comfort near some of the country’s most treasured UNESCO World Heritage Sites!
Starting with a transfer out of Vietnam’s bustling capital city, Hanoi, the tour is divided into 4 main stages:
Stage 1: Valleys of the North. We kick things off with a climb over the Thung Khe Pass and descend into the Mai Chau Valley, known for its lush rice paddies and charming ethnic stilt house villages. We then follow the course of the Song Ma River into the rolling hills of Thanh Hoa Province.
Stage 2: The Ho Chi Minh Highway. Over three days, we hit the pavement of this legendary highland highway. Constructed atop the trails of the historic Ho Chi Minh Trail, the smooth tarmac allows for a fast-paced journey past jungle-clad mountains and expansive farmlands.
Stage 3: Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park. We have a rest day to explore some of the world's most visually striking caves, underground rivers, and limestone formations.
Stage 4: The Central Coast. Over four days, we traverse coastal villages, scenic shorelines, and tranquil lagoons. In Vinh Moc, we visit a fascinating network of war-era tunnels; in Hue, we explore the glittering Imperial Citadel; and in Lang Co, we relax by the beach. Sri Lanka – the teardrop shaped island in the Indian Ocean – offers a dream escape for road cyclists looking to test their endurance on a mesmerisingly varied terrain. In the far north, long causeways arc over scenic lagoons. Amidst the “Cultural Triangle”, quiet backroads lead to the iconic Sigiriya Lion Rock. In the Central Highlands, tea estates line switchbacks coiling up the mountains. And in the south, rural lanes dissect a vibrant landscape of rice paddies and banana plantations. This 12-day road biking traverse across the entire length of Sri Lanka opens a window into the natural beauty and cultural richness of this captivating island nation.
The tour begins with a warm-up ride through the coconut groves of the west coast, after which we transfer north to the Jaffna Peninsula. Once the centre of Sri Lanka’s long-lasting Civil War, today it is a peaceful and prospering region known as the heartland of the country’s Tamil population. We hop across lagoons to reach the northernmost point of Sri Lanka and take to the plains to reach Mannar Island, a birdwatching paradise. From here we begin our journey south, riding through the country’s “rice bowl” to discover a triad of UNESCO World-Heritage Sites: the ancient city of Anuradaphura, Sigirya Lion Rock, and the Dambulla Caves. After a rest day in Kandy — home to Sri Lanka’s most sacred Buddhist temple — we ride deep into the tea-growing highlands. Here, we put our legs to the test, climbing above 1,500 m ASL through rolling hills covered by rows of tea bushes. Then, we transition to the jungles and grasslands of Udawalawe National Park where you have the opportunity to spot wild elephants. Our final ride brings us to the Dondra Head Lighthouse, the southernmost tip of Sri Lanka, where we celebrate at the nearby beaches of Mirissa. The tour ends with a transfer to Colombo, Sri Lanka’s capital.
Join us on this invigorating island adventure and earn your place in Sri Lanka’s road biking hall of fame!

Mera Peak (6,461 m), the highest trekking mountain in Nepal, is reached via Mera Peak Climbing. Anyone with a little bit of mountaineering experience should climb Mera Peak. Due to its elevation, it is a difficult trekking peak, although only very basic technical climbing skills are needed. Off-the-beaten-path in the rarely visited Hinku Valley is the climb to Mera Peak. The trail is isolated, the surroundings are untamed and clean, and there are not many populated areas. You'll spend the most of your nights in teahouses at yak herders' summer camps or remote kharkas.
Although Mera Peak is not particularly difficult technically, it is tall at 6476 m, has a long summit day, and is exposed to the elements. You need to drink plenty of water and keep your pace manageable and slow. Although the snow route itself is not particularly difficult, it is a long day out and will wear you out. You must feel at ease moving while cinched in and keeping a safe line while moving on a man rope. You also need to know how to walk in crampons and use your walking axe to self-arrest. We set up a high camp for this peak, so you should be comfortable camping on snow. It's also crucial to stay warm, dry, hydrated, and well-fed to be in the best condition on summit day.
