Portugal Tours in May 2027

I was surprised that Sintra was not included. I stayed an extra day to do it by myself on a separate one-day bus tour. As a widow it was really nice to not be on a bus full of couples. Even the guide and driver were women, and both did a fantastic job. I particularly liked the fact that we are picked up at the airport and delivered to the airport - no independent transportation to worry about. Most of the hotels (9 nights out of 11) were definitely worthy of 4 or 5 stars. Two were a bit of a disappointment. I had a gorgeous view of Lisbon from the 21st floor on my first and second nights - that was definitely a highlight. I hope to do another, but I think have to get my second hip replacement behind me before I tackle something like that again! I had a bit of a tough time keeping up with everyone on the walking tours, but the other women were always encouraging me and telling me I was doing great. I'm not sure if this was what you were looking for.

A delightful mix of road and offroad tracks for our 6 day route south from Lisbon. It was the perfect way to experience the rural and coastal beauty of SW Portugal in May. Our guide João briefed us each evening for the next days ride outlining coffee and lunch stops, the route and profile. Alex provided excellent support with the van to transport bags and provide cycle maintenance when required. João and Alex are local experts in the region and happy to share their experience and knowledge on all local matters, history, flora and fauna. Hotels and restaurants were of high standard throughout. I opted for an e-bike which reduced any worries about holding up the group. Highly recommend.

I was blown away by how beautiful Porto is. The walking tour was a great intro, and the wine cellar visit in Gaia was both educational and delicious. Loved the rabelo boat ride too!

They supported our Camiño journey by providing excellent accommodation and meals, prompt pickup of luggage along with friendly and hospitable support crew from start to finish. You’ve done it again!

A magnificent well organized journey through this beautiful country. Our tour director was knowledgable and throughout the tour, guided us with pertinent information, and mini-slide presentations while we were traveling on the super-comfortable Insight coach. Our driver was , who drove us safely throughout the country. We enjoyed all the sites, the hotels, and included meals. I definitely recommend this tour to anyone interested in an indepth experience in beautiful Portugal, where the locals were welcoming, and friendly. We took all the extra tours, and glad we did.

The coastline is stunning and undeveloped. The route includes a significant amount of off-road paths. These allow you to follow the coastline more closely, see the marvellous views and visit the beautiful sandy coves. The off-road paths can often be tricky to navigate and I would suggest more suitable for an MTB bike rather than the standard hybrids supplied. The hotels are good, the ones at Sesimbra and Vila Nova de Milfontes being particulary good. We were lucky to have a great group of people to cycle with and were well led by Oriol. The buffet lunches supplied by Paulo were the best we have had on our cycling trips. Given the amount of steep hills and sometimes poor off-road paths, I would class this trip as "Moderate +"
