Las Vegas, ‘the entertainment capital of the world’ is often overshadowed by its other name, ‘the gambling capital of the world’ and first timers expect a trip to Las Vegas to be one giant casino. Although there is fun to be had at the fruit machines and blackjack tables of Caesar’s Palace or the three-storied bar at the Cosmopolitan casino, there’s also a myriad of other exciting activities to visit in Las Vegas.

Guest reviews from travelers on tours in and around Las Vegas

We loved beginning with the five Utah parks and then moving on to end at the Grand Canyon. The Grand Canyon was such a highlight of this trip (we can't imagine doing this itinerary in reverse). We did an airplane ride at the Grand Canyon which felt like a wonderful finale to this trip.

Leave the driving to Insight Vacations while you enjoy the beauty and grandeur of our Western National Parks. Zion, Bryce and the Navajo Nation were my favorite area to visit. Insight ensures that the coach is spacious and comfortable and overnight accommodations are too. Our trip exceeded our expectations.

It was a great trip. The National Parks are beautiful and we enjoyed being able to stay in the parks when possible. Our tour guide was excellent. One of our best trips

Armando and Josh did a wonderful job on this tour. We had many wonderful stops and the people I sent pictures could not believe everything we saw. Our group was a special blend of Australians, Canadians, Chinese, and Americans. Many people gave short talks at the end of the tour. They thanked every one for the kindness shown to every person on the bus. According to one of the veteran travelers, the sincerity we had for each other brought out the best in all of us.

It was very good! So many wonderful sights to see every day, on and off the bus! The first 2 hotels could have had a bit better breakfast. Our travel director, Scott Smiley, and Ray the bus driver were both excellent!

We loved it! The tour guide and bus driver were real pros. The bus was very clean (windows were spotless!) and comfortable. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the area, giving us an overview before we arrived. The areas chosen for us to see were spectacular! I would definitely recommend this trip!

Las Vegas — Tour Highlights and Travel Tips

Travel Highlights

  • Cruise down the mythical Las Vegas strip and snap a photo of the iconic ‘Welcome to fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada’ sign.
  • Plan a night of bar-hopping in Downtown’s quirky watering holes including a 50’s style beauty salon.
  • Experience the breath-taking Cirque du Soleil show.
  • Catch a celebrity during their Las Vegas residency: everyone from Celine Dion to Jennifer Lopez have had residencies here.
  • City Center is the place to shop, and then drop at one of the gorgeous hotels attached to this mega mall.
  • Get your adrenaline pumping by rocketing up Las Vegas’ tallest building: Stratosphere. You’ll be rewarded by a revolving restaurant and cocktail bar at the top.
  • After a long night, detox in one of Las Vegas’ world-class spas.
  • Tiny piano bars downtown are some of the best places to stumble upon an intimate, spontaneous gig.

Travel Tips

  • Skip a taxi from the airport and arrange an airport shuttle instead to save some cash for the casinos.
  • Many choose to holiday in Las Vegas for the weekend, but mid-week is less crowded and often cheaper.
  • For cheaper accommodation, avoiding staying on The Strip.
  • Walking in the desert heat can take it out of you. Use the monorail and the trams to save yourself a bout of heatstroke.
  • Casinos offer free cocktails if you’re using the slot machines etc.
