Wow to Turkey. So many things to say. Stunning landscapes, amazing cities, beautiful beaches, delicious meals and soooo much incredible history. Everything is also very affordable even with the very low Australian dollar right now. Best of all is the people, they are all full of personality, jokes and kindness. As a solo female traveler, no one hassled me (although I'm in my 50's) and I never felt unsafe at any time.

Excellent arrangements. Weather played a spoilsport. Met the best people on this trip. The food was fantastic. We were very well taken care of, and the crew members were attentive to our preferences.

Overall, the scenery and sailing were incredible however, we were left feeling a bit short-changed as our crew did not communicate that we would not be sticking to the itinerary advertised to us. This meant we missed out on an island and free time add on that was part of the reason for booking this trip in the first place. I understand that the itinerary was not set in stone and could change due to a multitude of reasons, but the change was not communicated to us by our crew, and it wasn't until we looked back at the itinerary and realised we had missed the day we were excited for. The food was incredible and we were never left hungry. The drinks on the other hand, were far too expensive and I feel we should not of had to pay for drinking water during meals. Most days we did not dock in a marina, so we did not have the opportunity to purchase water elsewhere. The crew were lovely and did the best that they could but we did not have a trip manager, meaning the captain was our Captain, TM, Chef, etc. a lot of hats for one person to wear. This meant when we docked he was not available to show us around as he was busy on the boat. The country was beautiful and you can't beat a week of swimming and sun but, if I was to book the trip again I would go with a different company that had a TM.

This trip is handled by another company, so even though it was a Contiki trip, it lacked the essence of what I have come to expect from Contiki. For example a personalised day song for our group, day sheets with important reminders, times, tips, maps and greetings so we could interact with the locals. Add on activities were only museum outings which we bought from the TM and he led us through each museum and did his own guided tour. Due to the earthquake on 23/4/25 our fancy dinner was cancelled and we never had a formal farewell event at the end. I missed the Contiki glue I am used to. A better itinerary and communication would have made this an outstanding trip for me. I went out on my own to learn about the culture, not part of the trip.
