Comfortable and reliable 3-star stays. Expect private rooms, en-suite bathrooms, and solid amenities — a great balance between comfort and cost.
Good organisation. The guide, Elie, translated everything in English for me as I was the only non-French in the group. He also prepared delicious meals everyday. Walking pace was good for all the group. Night stays had everything essential and the dinner and breakfasts were also good. Overall, a truly "rustique" adventure in the Swiss Alps, in contact with nature and the mountain.

The "Via Francigena Switzerland: Lausanne to the Great St Bernard Pass" tour is a captivating eight-day self-guided walking journey through Switzerland’s most scenic and historic landscapes. Begin by Lake Geneva, traverse the UNESCO-listed Lavaux vineyards, follow the Rhone Valley, and ascend into the heart of the Alps to the storied Great St Bernard Pass. This final Swiss section of the ancient Francigena pilgrimage route is ideal for moderately active travelers who relish history, panoramic views, and local cuisine. A unique feature: the rare opportunity to walk a revived medieval trail, experiencing the dramatic transition from lakeside towns to alpine passes and staying in comfortable hotels along the way. This trip is only available during summer months due to weather and altitude.

Great experience, comfortable e-bikes and the app worked well as a navigational guide. Some of the hills are pretty big, so the e-bike was an essential.
The small towns, villages and scenery were stunning,as were the Swiss culture, traditions & hospitality all the way along the ride.
The standard of accommodation was very good and we particularly loved Gruyeres, the scenery, town and experience was superb. The Glassbach waterfalls & the grand hotel for lunch looking out over Brienzsee was spectacular.
Great trip! Hiking was challenging, but in a good way, and we (51, 50, and 11-year old) all felt tired but proud of ourselves each night when we reached our destination. Very happy to have all the logistics taken care of by our guide, and to have the donkeys lighten our load. Our son says we should do it again!

Overall excellent trip. Weather helped as was excellent. Able to walk all high passes and enjoy fantastic views. Accommodation was basic but OK, food overall was good. Never went hungry. Plenty of opportunity to stop and take photos, never felt rushed.

Although we were a bit apprehensive about a self guided tour - we were very pleased that everything worked out. Loved the places we visited and the variety of accommodation. It was a great adventure.
