The Beyond the Markha Valley tour starts and ends in New Delhi. The Beyond the Markha Valley is a trekking tour that takes 15 days taking you through New Delhi, India and other destinations in India.

Trek beyond the famous Markha Valley across the Zalung Karpo La to Rupshu. This is the finest introduction to trekking in Ladakh. The itinerary reflects over 30 years experience in Ladakh and in our constant search for upgrading treks our 'Beyond the Markha Valley' would be hard to beat. In essence we extend our classic trek from the Markha Valley, following established trails linking whitewashed settlements and tiny monasteries to the vast grazing pastures of Rupshu. Rupshu is the home of the Khampa, the original mountain nomads and is perfect for those looking for an unusual and remote trek. This is a stunning trek that explores the Ladakh heartland, where the flutter of prayer flags and the ancient mani walls reflect the deep seated Buddhist heritage and where views of the Zanskar Range stretch to the borderlands of the Tibetan Plateau.

“Our Beyond The Markha Valley trek exceeded our expectations by a country mile. Pre-trip organisation and information was excellent. The trek route was truly amazing. A mixture of superb scenery, suitable physical challenge, meeting locals in remote villages, trekking in valleys with no one around at all, seeing historical sites, shrines, temples and monasteries in spectacular locations, encountering lots of flora and fauna. The trek leader, guide, chef, camp staff, horsemen and drivers were exceptional. Really helpful, friendly, engaging, good fun and great at sharing their knowledge on so many different aspects eg life in India, local history, customs, beliefs and religion, natural history, climate, geography, personal anecdotes, animal welfare etc. The food was truly outstanding and better than any food we had in restaurants. The equipment provided was of good quality (sleeping bag and liner, sleep mat, duvet jacket, tents) which made for comfortable nights. A great adventure holiday that allows you to get close to the natural world in a spectacular setting with a really professional team to look after you. And very good value! Would definitely travel with World Expeditions again.”
