The Invictus ship time was wonderful. The accommodations were excellent. I was pleasantly surprised at the size of the shower and lived the fact that my suitcase fit perfectly under our beds. We stopped periodically to swim in the Adriatic. So beautiful! The breakfasts were delicious, as we're the lunches and dinners. The crew was friendly and helpful. It was a great experience.
I loved the pace and selection of activities. I also really loved the immersive experience we got given by the wonderful tour director Pamela and knowledgeable tour leaders in each city. I felt at home in the be our guest dinners( all very top notch, impressive meals), and because of Pamela’s kind, friendly demeanor and fun personality, felt a part of a big family with our group members. This is a perfectly balanced experience to visit the northern parts of Italy.
There was more walking than we expected, but enough free time to rest and recover. The only optional experience we went on was David in Florence and it was well worth it. Others in the group enjoyed all of the optional experiences. Our tour guide Pamala Russo was great and made sure we all had a good time and added a real personal touch to the trip. The bus was very comfortable and Michele our driver did an excellent job navigating the narrow streets and busy highways.
This trip was a stunning introduction to the spectacular Dalmation Coast of Southern Croatia. Each of the four cycling days - encompassing the islands of Hvar and Korcula and the Peljesac peninsula - seem to surpass one another, culminating in the heavenly bike path that is the Vinegorje Dingac. The latter will occupy my dreams for years to come. Even the accommodations had breathtaking views of the sun dappled and island-dotted Adriatic. Having previously lived in Italy, we were pleasantly surprised at the level of preservation, cleanliness and friendliness of the Dalmatian community. This area is truly a jewel. Wonderful food (especially fresh sea food) and drink (especially for wine connoisseurs) add to the quality of this itinerary. The October weather was perfect, sunny and in the 60s F, and the roads were quiet. Dubrovnik was still busy, but manageable.
Awesome trip! It really gives a nice overview of much of the country. We saw so many gorgeous sights. The mix of included and optional activities was great, it gave us the ability to be as busy as we wanted, but also allowed for downtime if we so chose. Most of the activities are in classic tourist areas - very crowded. We also had some activities off the beaten path, which was lovely. Be prepared with good walking shoes, we averaged about 6km per day, and lots of it is over ancient cobblestone and stairs. Our Travel Director was wonderful and all the local tour guides were extremely knowledgeable and friendly. This was our first European trip and we loved it.
Our tour guide lives in and loves Croatia. This made for a very informative and personal type of tour. She spent much energy to ensure that everyone had a great time. I would be very pleased to have her again as a tour guide.
