We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of Vietnam. The Luxury Gold itinerary took us to all the major sites and provided us with many personal experiences with the locals. This made the trip very memorable.

Amazing Vietnam Family Adventure

This was my first Exodus cycle tour and an amazing way to get a real feel for Vietnam - I absolutely loved it. We did it as a family with our 19 and 21 yr old daughters and it was a huge success all round. From the first meet we felt super looked after by our amazing guide Lok, drivers Sau and Nhan and the mechanic Zee who was so often supporting me at the back of the group! Everything about the tour was very well organized and so good that 2 of the group were on their 3rd and 4th times respectively.

Fantastic trip, city, towns , beach and rural areas amazing contrasts . Could have been better informed as Explore booked flights and we missed the Saigon tour - to have had the option to come earlier as not to have missed the tour - even at extra cost I found the holiday a bit stressful as there seemed great competitiveness with in the group to finish first - a holiday - not a competition - the E-bike seemed hard work too Also it was suggested that I should not have booked a cycling holiday as concerns that I would be able to do it- I did the whole thing and did not need any support - a bit discouraging really as age should not be an issue - if it is not to be allowed to book in the first place The leader and especially the cycling support team amazing Excellent 10 to 15 km cycling breaks provided with great snacks and refreshments Lastly our flight home was not booked until late evening which enabled us to explore Hanoi - we had a fantastic day - so like the beginning to have that extra time even at an individuals own cost / to be given the option More info - things like the water puppet show - not sure how to get tickets etc and having only one night there made it difficult Overall the most fantastic holiday I have ever had Amazing country, culture and a very cost effective holiday Hotels, food , Vietnamese people lovely Cruise just amazing and the food outstanding Highly recommended have lots of photos but on my phone The train street was fabulous

Leo was fantastic! I always felt safe, calm, happy and relaxed. He is a true gentleman and the most wonderful tour guide. Leo was so supportive of new experiences and was always there to give recommendations and advice. Nothing was everything too much for Leo. Leo was there 24/7 and was always on hand to sort out any issues. Leo had great taste, respect, recommendations, and was always keen to support with any questions. Traveling to Vietnam and Cambodia: An overview

Trips to Vietnam and Cambodia are popular for discovering a rich history, intricate architecture, tasty local cuisine, and bustling markets. Find all the required information and the answers to your questions here before you book a Vietnam and Cambodia trip.

Getting from Vietnam to Cambodia

To get from Vietnam to Cambodia, you can choose one of three transportations. You can either take the boat or the ferry via the Mekong River, fly directly to Hanoi or take the bus from Moc Bai to Bavet.

For getting around the city use electric rickshaws and moto bikes, the most popular options for exploring cities in both Vietnam and Cambodia. To travel between cities, buses and ferries are the best choice. Pre-booking is a must as prices shoot up closer to the date. Book them online, through a travel agent, or with the help of the hotel authorities where you plan to stay.

Best Time to Visit Vietnam to Cambodia

The best time for a Vietnam and Cambodia tour is the dry season from November to April. May is also a good season to visit Cambodia, but not Vietnam as this is generally when the monsoon begins. Shoulder season is October when crowds are scarce but you can still find good weather to enjoy both of these destinations!

Highlights of Vietnam and Cambodia Trips

  • Tour the incredible temples of both countries; Angkor Wat, Banyan Temple, and the Temple of Literature, to name a few.

  • Cruise on the mighty Mekong River exploring Vietnam’s many historic war sites and real-life stories, or cruise on Halong Bay and go kayaking or visit the stunning Cat Ba Island. We recommend smaller boats and less-tourist routes for the best experience!
  • Visit Old Hanoi, also called Old Quarter, and 36 streets locally, for a culturally rich experience replete with Vietnamese architecture, ancient shops, and a vibrant nightlife.
  • Delve into the poignant history preserved in Phnom Penh’s historical sites Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum and the Killing Fields.

Vietnam and Cambodia Travel Tips

  • Bargaining is a must-learn skill for Vietnam and Cambodia tours. You will be surprised at how much you can put the prices down both during shopping and traveling in the city.
  • Respect the culture and dress appropriately for temples. Also, please don’t stare at monks or locals, or take their pictures without permission.
  • Always carry cash—digital payments aren’t always available in local shops. Also, don’t exchange currency from strangers. It’s a common scam. Only trusted authorities and banks are assigned to the task.
