Fabulous trip!!

My guide, Ambar Bamjan, was not only a great guide on the hike, but accompanied me from my hotel in Kathmandu through the airport and flight to Lukla. You need to have an extra day or two in your schedule, as I missed a connection on the way to Nepal, and the flight to Lukla is very unpredictable due to weather. Incredible scenery unfolds immediately on the initial 2-3 hour hike the first day and continues for the entire trip. After the first few days a trekker on the way down told me the landscape got even better, and I didnt see how it could, but it did! I took over 2000 photos, but I dont think a single one captured the beauty that surrounds you 360 degrees. You have to see it in person! Some of the hikes are pretty difficult, with up to 2 hour stretches all uphill, although there is a lot of up and down overall. I frequently was thankful for the hours I spent on a stairmaster during the months before the trip. The tea houses were nice but primitive, especially toilets. The only heat was stoves burning yak chips in the eating areas around dinner time most days. I was very comfortable in my sleeping bag, however, and glad I brought a liner. You dont need the pad and pillow suggested in the list of things to bring. My guide was very attentive to how I was feeling with the altitude, and we were actually able to skip the acclimatization day and finish the trek a day early. If you have an extra day or two, Kathmandu has interesting Buddhist and Hindu temples, especially the monkey temple, but the air is filled with smog and dust - get out to the surrounding areas as much as possible - Nagarkot and Bhaktapur are very nice. If your idea of a great vacation is sitting in the beach sipping mimosas dont do this! If you want a challenge this is the most stunning scenery Ive ever seen!

Unforgettable trip in freezing cold!!! So much fun!!

Had the best time trekking to EBC. Choosing to go in winter was a big decision for two Queenslanders but I would recommend the off season to everyone! The tracks were empty, the teahouses had plenty of room and the snow makes the hot chocolates taste even better ;) GET A PORTER. Not only does it help the Nepalese economy it also ensures you don't have that extra challenge when fighting the altitude and you actually enjoy the journey each day rather than trying to hurry to the destination. We are both very fit young girls so carrying the bags would have been fine but we really think we enjoyed the trip a lot more than those who choose to not hire a porter. Yes it's expensive but this is a once in a lifetime trip so ensure you do it all right!

Very good guide

The Everest Base Camp Trek was harder than I thought. The trekking was brilliant, but I found that there was little to do when not trekking except sit through the cold and wait for the next day for the trekking to resume. Going in November, it is the cold season while apparently it is still the best time to do this trek. The trekking would be between 3 - 7 hours per day. So it leaves so much time for the rest of the day, yet there is literally nothing to do for the rest of the time. All of the other trekkers I spoke with agreed about this. This has nothing to do with the trekking company (or any other trekking company for that matter), it is just the nature of being on the mountains and sitting there in the freezing cold. Take a good book with you to occupy your free time.

Wonderful trip!

I had such an incredible time on my 14 day trek through the Annapurna Circuit! Subash was the best guide and taught me so much about the mountains we passed, villages we stopped in and festivals we saw along the way. This was my first time trekking at this altitude and with a backpack and it was definitely managagable once I got the hang of things. The views you see along the trek are unlike anything Ive ever seen before - Id highly recommend this trip!!

Great Experience

Huge thanks to Rewanta, Babu, Subash, and the rest of the team for a great experience. I almost didn't go last minute because I was worried about rain, flight concerns, and clouds ruining the trip. The weather turned out great, and this team did everything to make the experience go smoothly and splendidly. Rewanta was an amazing guide, and his experience clearly showed in his knowledge, personability, and attentiveness. We were able to do the trek reasonably quick but safely and it was immensely rewarding and informative. My biggest fears of getting out in and out of Lukla were quickly assuaged by the support of this team who clearly has the experience, flexibility, and the local connections necessary to help me navigate to and from all of my destinations with ease.
