"Our tour guide Kenna was the absolute best and I don't think the experience would have been quite the same without her! I felt as if we got to know New Zealand better because we got to know her. We went on this adventure tour for our honeymoon and enjoyed relaxing, hiking, skydiving, seeing the glow worms, the cultural experiences, the wine, the beach, and the mountains! I would highly recommend this tour operator, and if you get to have Kenna as your tour guide, you should have a blast!"
"The tour operator was amazing. I fell in love with New Zealand. Simon was great guide and the small tour group made it even better as we all became close friends. I would highly recommend the tour operator to all my friends and Family. I loved every moment that I was in New Zealand. I would come back in a heart beat and travel with the operator again."
"New Zealand is AWESOME! clean, pristine lots of H2O and lushly beautiful landscape. I'm glad to be with Si group, with his vast knowledge and experience about NZ. He is a mans man and will say things as is, at times funny, he is attentive, well do the extra mile to make sure everyone is OK and safe, and having a great time. Aside from my sunburnt face? I really enjoyed my sight seeing vacation."
"This tour is one for the true snow junkie. The snow fields visited on this trip are smaller, off-the-beaten-path club fields. Although these fields have some of the best powder in all of New Zealand, most of them only provide nutcracker rope-tow access to the sites. Learning the technique to using nutcrackers and rope-tows was not easy or straightforward, but our guide Morgs was very patient and stayed with us until we could master the technique enough to make it up the mountain. Morgs was also very knowledgeable about each snow field and about New Zealand sites, history, and culture. All accommodation, transport, and some meals are provided on tour, so there is little to worry about while on tour besides perfecting the nutcracker technique. Overall, I would recommend this trip to any experienced skier or snowboarder who is in great physical shape and is willing to put in some work to discover some amazing powder."
Haka Tours was born over a decade ago from the dreams of one man who wanted to reimagine how small group adventure tours were run. From the very first tour in June 2007 until now there’s been no looking back, and 12 years on we’re incredibly proud to be regarded as New Zealand’s leading small group adventure operator.
Proudly New Zealand owned and operated, showcasing our indigenous Māori culture is incredibly important to us, which is why we weave equal measures of culture and adventure into all our small group tours.
Whether you’re carving a greenstone pendant, paddling a waka (Māori canoe), eating a hāngī or learning the myths and legends that are a cornerstone of our Māori culture in New Zealand, helping you make that cultural connection is vital to enhancing your New Zealand experience.
As we’ve grown, we’ve stayed true to our core values which remain the key to our success. Ultimately, when you travel with Haka, you’re travelling with an authentic, locally-owned business that puts you, the customer, at the centre of everything we do.
