About Us

Chabo Africa Safari is a Tour Company Based in Iringa (South Tanzania). We grew out of the local community and specialize in trips to the beautiful, unspoiled and unknown region of southern Tanzania. We provide safaris and adventures to many exciting destinations like Selous Game Reserve, Ruaha National Park, The Udzungwas, Katavi National Park, Kitulo etc (known as the Southern Circuit). We can also take you to the better known Parks in the North of Tanzania like Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater, to hiking Mount Kilimanjaro and to Malawi and Mozambique. Our highly personalized safaris and treks offer a unique window into the landscape, wildlife and culture of Tanzania.

Whether looking for a special Safari or a trek to Africa’s highest peak, we will work with you to create unforgettable adventures. Our Safari and mountain guides have at least seven years experience. We organize the full tour including transport, accommodation, guide, cooks and porters.

Ernest Lugalla with his partner Modestus Mdemu are highly experienced guide living in Iringa region in South Tanzania.They organize and guides safari and adventure tours in Tanzania, Malawi and Mozambique, including transport, different itineraries, accommodations and many other adventures.

Ernest have been trained at a Safari Guide course and has a Certificate in Wildlife management from the College of African Wildlife Management (Mweka). He also holds a BA in Cultural Anthropology and Tourism from Iringa University.
His Partner Modest also have attended in the same college and trained as a safari Guide and acquired the Certificate in Wildlife management.

They both have been working in tourism in different times, Ernest started in 1996 as mechanical trainee, safari cook and later as a professional safari guide. He worked for more than 6 years as a game warden for the the Ministry of Natural Resource and Tourism at Selous game reserve, the still virgin Wild Jungle in Africa. His partner Modest who grow up in Ruaha National Park he is carrying a vast experience about wildlife that he knew from his childhood. They started working with different companies in the country before starting their own company Chabo Africa Safaris.
