We had a wonderful day with our tour guide Gen. There was so much to see & Gens knowledge of the background history of Santiago taught us so much. Nothing was too much trouble for her, she really looked after us & has a good sense of humour. We would definitely recommend this tour operator to anyone visiting Chile.
Sean was a great local guide who spoke both English and Spanish languages perfectly well not to mention how personable, punctual, organised and knowledgeable he was. The tour was relaxed and comprehensive. If you are looking for a wide overview in a limited time... he is great and will show you the best spots.
A huge thank you to Sean for an excellent tour. His organisational skills made this fantastic tour of the Maipo Canyon a dream. We were picked up from our accommodation at 8am and were taken to our wine tasting then horse back ride by the excellent guide Sean. The ride had stunning scenery throughout. Being a first-language English speaker he informed us of the plan for the day and explained much of the history of the country, the area and of the tour destinations. He was also able to be flexible with our drop off destination at the end of the day. Highly recommended.
Sean is an excellent tour guide that is a US expat that has lived in Chile for a long time. He is extremely knowledgeable about Chile and provided us with a lot of interesting information about the area. Because this is a private tour, Sean was able to adjust the itinerary to provide more time in the areas where were were most interested. The tour of Neruda's house in Isla Negra was excellent, and the small town of Pomaire which produces a lot of pottery was interesting to explore. Sean also gave us an recommendation for a very good local Chilean restaurant in Pomaire, where we had a very tasty lunch. We highly recommend this tour to anyone who is visiting Santiago, and will definitely contact Sean again in the future for other tours of the area when we return.
We spent a week in Chile and took various tours (of the city, the beach, and the countryside), and this was by far the BEST of all the tours we took. Our tour guide, Sean, has been living in Chile for over 25+ years, and was a wealth of knowledge. We started off our day with a scenic drive through the countryside, and our first stop was Paidahuen. This is an archeological park with incredible views of the Andes. We went on a short hike (about 1 hour round trip), Sean had walking sticks and water for us, and we went at our own pace so we were able to take lots of pictures and soak in the incredible views. Unlike other tour groups, we did not feel rushed, and we were given the freedom to explore on our own. After the hike, we got a private tour of the In Situ winery at the base of the hill. Maria, the general manager of the vineyard, gave us a tour of the grape fields and barrel storage, and even took us behind the scenes to see the manufacturing process, even their bottle labeling process. This was a very complete winery tour, unlike some of the other wine tours we had taken in other areas. After the tour we had a wine tasting of 4 different wines complete with cheese platter. Then we drove about another 45 minutes to the Chilean/Argentinean border to an amazing local restaurant right at the foot of the Andes, with delicious local food, incredible views, and we even saw llamas and alpacas roaming in the back lawn of the restaurant. Our final stop was an alpaca farm in Llai Llai, which is the largest exporter of alpacas in the world. We got the chance to pet and feed the baby llamas, some as young as just a few days, this was by far the highlight of the trip! We also got a private tour of the yarn and clothing manufacturing operation, which was very educational. It was a full day but we loved every minute of it, and we couldn't have asked for a better tour guide than Sean.
The entire experience from collection to drop off was amazing. The guides genuinely care about the experience they create for you. The local knowledge they have and are able to share just made the day even more interesting. Highly recommended
We had a very good day out in the Maipo Valley visiting a couple of terrific wineries with Sean from the tour company. The Santa Rita and Concha y Torro Vineyards are beautiful properties with excellent wines. Tastings were great. Lunch was at a little community based restaurant between the two wineries and was of excellent quality. Sean is a very good host and the late model vehicle was very comfortable. A top day!
I highly recommend this tour operator. My friend and I took two different tours with the company in April 2019 - Both tours were customized winery tours. We wanted to visit wineries that were unique (e.g., family-owned, organic, unusual varietals, scenic). Sean found the perfect wineries for us, and we enjoyed every single one! We worked with Sean to arrange the tours, and Genevieve was our tour guide. Sean was amazing - he helped plan and customize our tours so that they were exactly what we wanted. He gave us suggestions based on his knowledge of Chile and he was also very responsive to our interests. He was very good about answering our many questions. And he was very easy to reach - both through email and WhatsApp. Genevieve, our tour guide, was also wonderful! She was very helpful and knowledgeable. She took care of everything we could possibly need during our tours. She was waiting for us when we got off the plane in Santiago (she picked us up at the airport for the first of our winery tours) -- It was very easy to meet up with Genevieve. And then on both of our tours, she took care of everything. We had tons of fun! (That's why we booked a second tour :) I've already recommended this tour operator to several people, and I plan to use it again if (when) I return to Chile. It's fantastic!
Our 8 day visit to Chile included two highlights on THIS tour. Sean took us about an hour or so outside of Santiago to Quintessence Criadero and Boutique. We had an "up close and personal" experience with this Alpaca farm and business. Sean's own enthusiastic interest in these animals was reflected in his translations of the tour guide's information. This is not only a tour for animal lover's but for Textile lovers. The story of the evolution of this farm and business is delightful. Knitters: Baby Alpaca Yarn is available for purchase! We also went to the coast for a terrific lunch by the sea and then PENGUINS. Near the town of Cachagua , Chile, we hiked on a stone pathway on Zapallar Beach to a point to view the Humbolt ()Penguins . The Island where they reside is a protected area. Sean had binoculars available for up-close viewing, too. Sean's generosity with his enthusiasm and knowledge made this a 5 star tour.
