Chicago was way too hot during our time there but Collette can't control the temperatures. The Pier was hot and we took a Skyline view boat ride which was beautiful. The remaining trip was fabulous especially Mackinac Island. I went horseback riding and the fudge was delicious. The Eldon Dow house was interesting in Middleton, MI. In Frankenmuth the Bonner Christmas store was crazy big with so many Christmas things to look at. We also visited the Frankenmuth shopping village. My favorite store was the Pet store. It has everything! All the shops were fun to look around at. I also visited the clock store with so many old and new types of clocks. In Dearborn MI we visited the Ford Museum and Greenfield Village which both were filled with so many history treasures. My favorite was in Greenfield Village I watched a baseball game played by the rules of 1867. The caught the balls with no baseball gloves like today and they were dressed in old fashioned uniforms. There was so much more than what I have listed but I would definitely recommend and I would definitely recommend Chad Nelson as your tour guide. Chad is a history buff and he was very informative before touring each location. Definitely 5 Star trip and tour guide!

Loved every aspect of it. From the touring of Mackinac, to the food, the Ford Museum, the gardens, and the magnificent history of the Dow house. We flew into Chicago and it was hot, but the accommodations were perfect and flexible times.

This was our first tour. Chad did a great job in leading the trip. His experience was a huge benefit to our tour. The most memorable aspect was the Grand Hotel experience. A fantastic and unique opportunity!

Our tour manager, Chad was outstanding, as were the accommodations. In my opinion, the only room for improvement is in the areas of a little too much free time and too many meals on our own. These hidden costs, especially the meals add to what already is a somewhat expensive trip. But all in all, it was fantastic!

The group was too large in my opinion but we were with friends and had our own group. Would have loved another day in Chicago and on Mackinac- the highlight was my birthday at the Grand Hotel, complete with fireworks after the yacht race. What a memorable spot!

Our tour manager, Dawn Spencer, was the best-so fun, caring, organized! Our driver, Phil, was equally great, navigating some tight spots expertly. The Hyatt Regency in Chicago was pretty fancy but nothing can surpass the experience of staying at the Grand Hotel for 2 nites. You had to dress up for dinner but well worth enjoying a varying 5 course meal nightly. Afterwards, there’s a pianist or harpist and later dance music with a live band along with rocking on the Adirondack chairs on the world’s longest porch. The charm of horse drawn carriages makes Mackinac Island special. And then, there’s always the famous fudge everywhere! Finally, going to the Henry Ford Museum was an unexpected treat in how massive and creative that museum displayed Americana. Everyone should see it-one of the best museums ever and I’ve been to the Louvre, Smithsonian, New York’s MOMA, de Young in SF!
